Offered for sale is a rare DOKA (double-cab) 1976 Mercedes-Benz Unimog 416 built by Adrenaline Industries, makers of outstanding military vehicle conversions. The double-cab body is finished in tan over black vinyl upholstery, and spray-on bed liner material has been applied to the underside of the cab and lower portion of the doors. A turbocharged 5.7-liter OM352 diesel inline-six sends power to all four wheels through a manual transmission with six main gears, six intermediate gears, and two crawler gears resulting in 20 forward speeds. Three locking differentials and rare 'fast' portal axles allow this Unimog to cruise on the highway.
Features include four wheel disc brakes, 20″ wheels wrapped in Michelin 425/75 XM47 tires, aftermarket spring and shock absorbers, a body lift to accommodate the aftermarket turbo, dual AGM batteries with an isolator circuit, and dual stainless steel fuel tanks which offer approximately 900 miles of driving range. The steel pickup bed features removable aluminum sides and is fitted with a roll bar, cargo rack with adjustable rails, bedliner coated load floor with ‘D’ hooks in each corner, and an integrated receiver hitch for attaching accessories. The exhaust system has been modified with a stack that is routed through the bed. Exterior equipment includes a Warn 15k-lb winch and custom front bumper, a Factor 55 fairlead and Ultrahook, removable front wheel arch extensions, LED driving and perimeter lights, ProTech stainless steel cargo boxes, and two compressed air outlets.
Inside the cab the weather stripping has been replaced and features include marine-style flooring, digital gauges to monitor important engine and operating parameters, and an aftermarket diesel-powered cabin heater rated for arctic conditions in addition to the factory cabin heater which the seller states has been rebuilt. Comforts include Corbeau front seats, black vinyl rear bench, tinted windows, sound deadening throughout, and a JVC bluetooth stereo with six speakers.
Under prior ownership, the 5.7-liter OM352 diesel inline-six was overhauled and fitted with a turbocharger. More work completed under prior ownership reportedly included overhauling the transmission, replacing the clutch, and installing portal box vent tubes. The replacement digital odometer indicates 638 miles, though total mileage is unknown. Engine hour clock is accessible on the block of the motor. Scratches are present on the body panels, and corrosion is present on the bottom of the doors. Fluids were recently replaced, brake pads were replaced approximately 120 miles ago, and the rear end was serviced at the same time as the brakes .
Interested parties are welcome to view the Unimog in person at Analog and Grit by appointment, 3094 Commercial street San Diego, CA 92113.
