New used LX470, advice on how to do a mild build.

And the tablet mounted properly. Also shows the ghetto-installed IC-7100 which I really need to sort out. It's still temporarily installed and massively improperly.

Nice build, coming along great. How does the AHC like the weight of the bumpers and sliders on the street? While wheeling?

This rig is very clean. Even the buttons on your AC controls look new.

Very nice (and very $$ ham) cabin options in there!

AHC is kind of hating the weight of the additions to be honest. After the rear bumper was added it occasionally will lose a inch and then it'll pump itself back up. It maintains "normal" height, and is able to go into "high" when wheeling. I haven't had any height related issues when offroad however I do suspect I'm killing the system and need to just bite the bullet and put new suspension on it.

I'm under the impression there's some stuff one can do with a new spring(maybe stock LC spring) and torsion bar to reduce pressure in the AHC. If I lived in Colorado(or near) I'd have that done by Slee but he seemed to suggest it wasn't super straight forward.

Still working on the high frequency side of things. I attached a front-mounted whip antenna for the CB range of things(and in theory..10-meter-ish HAM). It needs a lot of debugging, grounding, and other such things that I'll need to use local ham folks for resources on.

Nice rig, did you modify the ARB bumper before installation. Ive read in the ARB website that only sahara bullbar fits on the LX470. Likewise, did the weight of the bumper damage the AHC? Im planning to put ARB sahara bullbar but hesitant on the effect of it on the AHC.

I just installed an Ironman Commercial Deluxe Bullbar on my 98 LX and it didn't effect the AHC at all. The net weight difference between the bullbar bumper and the entire stock bumper assembly (sub-bumper, foam, bumper shell, projector fog lights) is less than you think. I cranked my torsion bars 1 full turn to keep in spec.

A winch (especially steel braided line) could cause more issue as it's heavy. I'm doing synthetic line on my winch.
