New - Toyota 9.5" 4.88 Gears - Just Differentials

Nitro's new Toyota 9.5" rear 4.88 ratio gear supersede part number TLC100-488-NG. The previous TLC100 gears had a 29 spline pinion, our T9.5 gears are 32 spline. Older models can now upgrade to these gears with our conversion yoke YOKT60060 and Master Install Kit MKT9.5, for a pinion spline upgrade.

So can the pinion on my rear 80 series axle be upgraded to the 32 spline pinion? Would be awesome if nitro offered a kit to install 35 spline axle shafts as well to fj60 and fj80 axles.

As stated they are only for the 98+ style carrier.

New Toyota 9.5", 4.88 Gears For 98-Present Land Cruiser 100, 200, 79 Series, and Tundra - New Products - Nitro Gear & Axle


That said the actual 3rd member housing is the same on all years, but the 98+ have a different offset, bolt pattern, and inner diameter. It is possible to use these gears in 97 & older model diffs IF you use the 98+ style locker, and upgrade the axles to custom 32 spline axles.
