so, I admit it, I was at Harbor Freight -I know, I know...- and I saw this gizmo. I figured, OK, may not work, but for $10 I'll have at least some fun and it may well work after all. I'm thinking about things like cleaning up the knuckles on the 80 before putting in grease, removing caked dirt or mud etc. Gotta be better than the spray bottle I'm using now. Also much more control than spraying in the engine bay with a hose.

Probably would use it with a solution of Simple Green. Suspense....

I have one. It doesn't work as well as you'd think it would.

damn...

should always check here first before buying something... :frown:

will still try it, though... :)

I have a very similar cleaner, not a harbor freight but probably the same thing. I use a big black cement mixer box (looks like a big bus box) underneath whatever I am cleaning. Make sure you can keep at least 90lbs of pressure (100 is better). I use simple green and HOT water as the solvent in the black box. What ever is washed off and the solvent falls in the box and the solvent is pumped aback through the sprayer. Has worked pretty good for me. I also have a line off the Hot side of my household waterheater. Using a hotwater hose, triggered sprayer and a reduction on the end down to an old brakeline. Does a great job off blasting stuff off.

OK, played with it some today.

Verdict: worth the $10. (Now $7 on sale, darn it...) Not power washer strong, by any means, but nice to clean stuff before you work on the rig. Will remove dirt and greasy crud using soapy water. Takes a while but nice and controllable. I think not the best for heavy duty cleaning of heavily crudded parts, but nice to do some light prep cleaning while working under the rig, like knuckles, zirks etc. Easy and fast when you don't want to use the power washer cuz too strong or don't want to get it going. Good for the radiator etc too.

added: and works OK as a long reach air nozzle for blowing, drying etc, too. Note: Water flow rate adjustment does nothing, apparently...
