I agree I would be on a LandCruiser quick but the 2018 GX460 we bought is going to make due. I wish I would have found one with low miles. I grabbed my Premium with 57,000 miles for $40K... Not sure if that was a good deal or not?!
Having just looked up MMR [Manheim Market Report, which is what dealers use to valuate trades and buy at wholesale] as I'm about to buy out my 2018 lease, the range is from $33K to $45K. I'd say you did well considering the MMR prices are what dealers are paying each other to then prep and mark up for retail sales.

 at anyone having to "make do" with a $40K SUV... But you're right, the only thing I'd trade mine for is a 200 series. And miles on these are a nit.

Glad to hear! I felt it was a decent deal. I traded my Audi SQ5 in for it. The Audi was due for a nice service and tires soon. The wife wanted something taller.

Added the expedition essentials track mount. Not the ideal solution for holding my phone, as permanent alterations are my last option, but it’s the best I could find. I did the option 1 since I’m only putting a phone on. Plenty sturdy if you can avoid going Mongo when placing and removing your devices.

Front runner is loud as a tornado, even with their wind fairing…also kills 2-3 MPG. It is overpriced itself, and you have to but all their proprietary overpriced attachment hardware to use it. It’s also half a days work to remove or install. PITA.

It will hold weight, yes. But LFD crossbars do just as good of a job. No need for a big expensive rack like Front Runner if you’re putting a RTT on. LFD bars will hold that weight just fine. Wayy less $ out of pocket. Do they look as cool? No. But functionally they are superior in every way other than total square feet of rack.

interesting.. I have a frontrunner with wind fairing ( separate purchase, not the one that comes with the kit ) and no issue with noise. I just can't open my sunroof.. no big deal.
I sold my CVT Mt Hood... 220lb on my roof is heavy and noisy.

If you want just the crossbars... better to go with Adventure Bars by Midguard Adventure. It has better load rating, otherwise, you are limited to factory rack load rating.

That’s an interesting option I wasn’t aware of, but not a product for me.
I think it looks odd without a rail, I don’t want to keep the bars up permanently, I think the feet with no bars would look even more silly, and constantly removing the feet would induce a huge water problem. LFD is still the best product I’ve seen for my purposes.

But can you lock your center console? Or is that not an issue in Utah?
Utah has constitutional carry and generally permissive gun laws. I typically have it appendix concealed if I’m out of the vehicle and not at home. Driving concealed has never been comfortable for me so I don’t do it and like the magnets to prevent sliding around ina storage cubby. It’s not my primary home defense so I’m fine leaving it in my truck/garage

Utah is very 2A friendly. It’s one reason it made my short list of possible relocation destinations. LOL

It is and I agree that’s an important factor when looking for permanent relocation if able. SLC area is getting stupid expensive but much of the state is still reasonable if it suits your work location

I went back and forth about suspension setups. In the end I couldn’t stomach $3-5k to replace low mileage parts to acquire the small front lift I wanted. I went with 4Runner popular Cornfed. It’s a 1/2” strut spacer that results in 1” of lift.
Personally this is perfect with just 1/2” of rake left. Since I saved myself by not buying a full set up, I had my local dealer do the work. Well worth it, no lean before or after and they managed to add some caster with their alignment.
The front no longer looks squished and ride quality is near identical. Very satisfied. $50 spacer. $250 labor. $150 alignment.

Is your Glock actually in a holster or is it just open with no round in the chamber? And can you rotate your uploaded photos, please? I really want to follow your build. I, too, came from a Taco, but I'm not ready to mod my GX yet. I'm curious to see how a Utah owner would do his GX. Utah is an item on my long bucket list.

No holster, just a magnet. I keep two holsters, one for a belt the other an ulticlip for gym shorts ect in the bin below. Sometimes it’s hot sometimes it’s not. Before I get a lecture about that, I spent 10 years in socom and not as support but as an operator. My experience and comfort level is different than most. Also, glocks have stiff triggers. I take weapon safety extremely serious.

The rotated photos really seem to scramble eggs. Not sure why some upload vertical, but if you screen shot it you can rotate it yourself.

As for modding a GX, it’s more daunting since it is not a cheap vehicle. My goal is a quality modest product that doesn’t make a good thing worse. One that someone not familiar with GX’s might think was factory. The strut spacers deviate from “quality” as they are a budget part but again was the best solution for my goal. I’d say start with quality tires and go from there. Don’t make permanent changes until you need to.
Hope this helps, which is my goal of showing what I’ve done. I didn’t share with my Taco because the information is out there in abundance, unlike with the GX.

I wasn't going to give you a lecture at all. I kind of do a survey because I haven't decided yet if I want a safe in my glove box, under my seat, or center console... or another method like a magnet. I only use one holster though which I wear and take off if I have to.

I hear ya. This was the best compromise I could find that allowed reasonably quick access, a secure purchase when reaching for it, a some concealment from a stranger peeping through windows.
