Hello out there, my name is Tim from Velarde,NM. I was in Cedar Crest yesterday and saw a ih8mud.com bumper sticker on a very nice LC (root beer brown). Just got home and logged on,and registered.
I have a 1991 fj80, 100% stock, and 4x4's like a mad man!! It's my hunting and fishing vehicle. I like to fish the whole year round, which is quite a challege now with the snow. Also like to hunt Elk and Deer. Would like to find other Cruisers in northern NM for fishing and trail ride expos. Thanks for reading, hope to hear from you guys, and girls soon.

Welcome to the board. I live in Espanola (Santo Nino) and drive a 1995 FZJ 80 with some of the typical add ons. I also use my cruiser for hunting fishing and sometimes going to work. Looking foward to meeting you.

Thanks,
Vince

Welcome! come along on any of our runs and/or meetings. family, friends and kids are welcome too.

Hi Tim and welcome to the High Desert Cruisers section here on 'Mud. We are a local Toyota club based out of Albuquerque but we have several active members that live outside of the city. Please check out our web site at www.hdcruisers.org

You can watch this section here on 'Mud for discussions on local events and local issues. We have had some recent discussion on participation with the SFNF efforts to designate roads and trails. As an avid outdoorsman, you will be impacted if/when they start closing trails effective in about 3 years.

We also have a few regular outings every year and we have a monthly run that is planned at the club meetings. We try to organize 1 or 2 overnight trips in the warmer months and there is usually an impromptu run every few weeks where someone will post here on the list to get a group out for a day trip.

For 2007 we have:
==============
Jan 20th - Technical day (tentative) - 2FE engine in an FJ40
Jan 21st - Monthly club outing - Snow Run - Location TBD.
Super Bowl Sunday Snow run (Day trip someplace where there is fresh snow.)
May - Cruise Moab - This is a national multi-day TLCA event hosted by Rising Sun.
May - Memorial Weekend with FJ Cruiser Trail Team (tentative) See details here.
July - Colorado Expedition trip - Usually 3 or 4 days with time for fishing.
Oct - First Annual HDC trip to Moab - Probably 3 or 4 days.
December - 7th Annual Christmas Tree run - Jemez mountains day trip.

Boys, boys, boys. Where are your manners? I can't believe somebody hasn't given this lad the proper HDC/MUD welcome.

Tim, welcome to High Desert Cruisers @ IH8MUD.com :flipoff2:

You've already had body damage on your first club run, mounted mud tires, planning a CB install, and done the ATRAC mod. I'd say you are on the right track though not quite on a fast track. :D

Dunno how long it will stay stock if you hang with these guys for long.

The only way I've resisted departing from stock in 2 years of membership is a lack of extra cash. I still managed to buy a nice 220V stick welder a couple of months ago and call it a Christmas/Anniversary/Father's day gift. Now if I can just buy some steel and find some time to start welding up bumpers and sliders, I'll have a good start.

Does a CB and 31" BFG A/T's count?

Marc

Tim,

Welcome to the board. Sounds like you would be a good trail guide for an offloading trip in your neck of the woods!

Sure! Lots of ground to cover over here. Beautiful areas, lots of stuff to do.
