I just though I would take this time to let you know a little about me.
I,m 47 & a father of 2 girls (they drive me nuts) I have worked as a power lineman for a local power company for the last 24 yrs. I'm new to landcurisers, But not to toyota's,. I still have the 87 4X4 I bought 12/31/86. I like to do most of my own work. I'm to cheap to pay someone else & it gets me out of the house. My latest Toyota is a green 94 with lockers , leather & lots of miles (179,450)
well not many if it had been kept up.I have hitup cdan for a ton of parts & have been putting them on the last 2 weekends. The thing about it I am MOST discusted with is the roof racks thy leak & looks like the po has caught them on something. I will be thaing them off this weekend. not sure hou I will fix the holes The thing I MOST like is the way it drives & how soild it feels.
Later, Frank

fatfishfrank,
welcome to the forum and congrats on the 80 purchase.

Read the FAQs and some of the older threads about the roofracks. Also - see the classified section as Landtank (Rick) has designed a gasket that should help. My 97 never had the factory rack, so it's about the only problem I haven't had to deal with.

Welcome.

Yeah Junk, my 97 didn't come with a roof rack either?! Apparently it's a rarity to find one w/o?

Thanks for the welcome, No beer just poor spelling on my end. Back to my cruiser I got the racks off today 1 screw came out the rest I had to drill the heads off. Lesson 1 next time find one without racks

Welcome :flipoff2:

You did two great things. One you bought one with Lockers. Two, your buying parts from CDAN.

Welcome to the forum :flipoff2: Lucky you have the lockers. Enjoy the ride on your new rig.
