Hi everyone,

I'm brand new to this forum. I came from the FJ cruiser world I loved that car, but I got hit by a drunk driver while stopped at a red light, and had my beloved totaled 😭.

prior to that I had talked 2 different people into purchasing the GX platform over the years, and decided to make the change myself. I just got a 2014 GX, and I couldn't be happier! I still miss my FJ a bit, but I'm sure that will pass.

I have already chopped the running boards, and ordered the bronze 17" TRD wheels with 255/80/17 skinny tires. Next on my list is suspension. On my FJ I had the toytec boss 2.5 with remote reservoirs which I liked. But recently I have been turned into the Ironman foamcell pro kit, and to be honest their marketing material has absolutely sold me on their stage 3 kit. But I have noticed this forum doesn't seem to have much love for that kit.

is there any reason why? Or perhaps someone has this kit and loves it? I would love to hear your thoughts

Looking forward to engaging with this community

thanks

Roshan

I'm running this kit on my 470. It's really popular in the 5th gen 4Runner world, and most of the reviews on it were great. The other reason I went for it as these shocks are supposedly an easy DIY rebuild at home because they don't contain pressurized gas, and they are built out of 1/8" steel, so I'm expecting them to last the lift of my GX with a rebuild or two.

It's a good kit, the install was easy, and it rides really well. Granted this is the only lifted 120/150 series vehicle I've ridden in, so it's hard to really "apples to apples" it to another suspension setup, but I've been happy with it.

I would, however, recommend skipping the Stage 3 kit and getting a Stage 2, and instead installing a eimkeith panhard bar relocation kit (as opposed to the Ironman adjustable panhard bar). This is a cheaper option and keeps the panhard bar level and is therefore better for handling.

I'm happy with the Ironman FCP lift. Ride is a bit firmer than stock, although my LT tires at 40 psi might have more to do with that than the suspension. FWIW the kit is MUCH beefier than the stock bits I took off.

Ironman FCP here… had it for two years now. I’ve been happy with it so far. It’s a good mid range option. Better than OME nitros but not as expensive as BP-51s.
