New to the clubhouse / rear bumper

Hello NC family - nice to 'meet' you. I'm sure I've gotten a few suggestions from some of you over the last year or so as I've been working on my 1985 FJ60. Looking forward to really meeting some of you at an event in the future. I'm up in Asheville.

Sadly, my truck was hit about a month ago while it was parked out on my street. Thankfully, the person stopped and their insurance is now taking care of things at the body shop. But it looks like the rear bumper (probably home-built and installed before I got it) is going to have to be replaced. And the insurance company is only allotting about $400 to replace it.

I've been looking all over the web - and have saved a bunch of links - but wanted to know if anyone here had any suggestions. Local fabricators...or otherwise. I'm all ears.

@Trollhole would most likely be able to whip up a new bumper for you, but it'd cost more than $400!

I would argue the cost of a bumper with the insurance company.

Even an OEM style bumper will cost almost double that. Bumper looks like $500 + two end caps at $100 each.

As far as local, Stan is in Chesnee. @NCFJ and does amazing work. Just depends on how far you wanna go with it.

Agreed with Darin. I've been waiting a long time for my 80 to be hit on the rear bumper.
