Is that what it takes to get to the harness?

Well yes and no. Those are just parts i bought for it before trav got it. Mudship at 3am delivered those and front fender last night. I sleepy.

Its glass, that happens- bummer tho'.
Call the outfit with the yellow van in the phone book- I bought a new windshield for less than $100, you'll need to get a tube of windshield sealant and yes, you can reuse the gasket. Just don't seal before you put in the glass like the manual says..

How?

Just pop it out and wear goggles, summer's on it's way right??:steer:

Definitely Bigfoot!

But a whole trip and no body damage! I've turned over a new leaf!

I've also decided that my front bumper will have a stinger, that way the next time Bigfoot throws trees at us they will go under instead of over. :flipoff2:

Is that a job I should tackle myself or have a glass shop do?

I've heard I should get ppg or OEM...will other brands hold up as well?

Wow $100... at that price I could replace several, as long as they don't leak.

On another note first fill up I got 7.2 mph
This last fill (before wheeling) I got 8.3. I filed in GP until it wouldn't take any more. Then we drove to Brookings (my GPS and CamoJ odometer agreed with millage used) and filled again.
Tail pipe is very black and it smells like it's running very rich. The plugs I pulled when I replaced them also indicate rich. About halfway to Brookings check engine light did come on and after some challenges I got code 71 out of it (e1 to te1). Today I will trouble shot egr, but I didn't think it would hurry fuel millage that much.

Also I haven't paid close attention in the past when driving eighties but in low it seems to shift hard and late. And when put in L or 2 it continues to shift like in drive... Any thoughts?

Thank you!

Also you may have a dirty O2 sensor. It might be worth pulling them and giving them a thorough cleaning.

Shifting is fine. As for the other, will let you know if I come up with something. My McGrew mileage is usually around 8 but 11-13 elsewhere.

Thanks Jesse, I'm going to relocate them anyway so I'll clean and test them also.

G double; millage from GP to Brookings was the 8.3 from Brookings to Cave Junction by way of Sourdough took just over twelve gallons...around sixty miles...around five mpg...not so hot. Oh and to Brookings I pretty much set cruise and just drive like an old lady.

Yeah that milage seems pretty low, plus the black plugs and exhaust tell ni lies either. How long did you drive with the light on? Also I have a simple wiring change to allow you to use the power button to change between low range and high range shift points. Makes low range driving around a lot nicer when needed and high range driving more 'sporty' feeling too. :p

Matt

The light came on about half way to Brookings. I think it had been on long before the trip from Washington but went out when the battery was disconnected.

With the light on it will run in limp mode, with timing pulled and open loop rich mode. Did your 80 have the egr temp sensor? I'll look up the fsm in a few when I get a moment.

Matt

Thank you Matt! Yes I do have a temp sensor. I'm going out to test the egr now. Going to apply vacuum and pinch the two lines. If it dies that means it is functioning correctly and it's the modulator. (?) That seems to be consensus from internet...

the EGR doesnt cause a overrich condition. unless it malfunctioning was causing misfire type conditions

my guess that there is a possible exhaust leak,

or the TPS is tripping like trav and i talked about.

Definite exhaust leak...that will cause over rich? &$_43@&&#& #!&$$!#=&$ #!#&$&!!!!!!
Guess I should get to welding! Grrrr
