the EGR doesnt cause a overrich condition. unless it malfunctioning was causing misfire type conditions

my guess that there is a possible exhaust leak,

or the TPS is tripping like trav and i talked about.

Oh there certainly is a bit of an exhaust leak! But it is quite a bit down stream of the O2 sensors, but you cant ever second guess old school japanese magic.

Wouldn't the ecm in limp mode cause by any error code run rich? Independent of what caused the code? Just my curiosity

Matt

i really dont think the ECM is going to limp mode for an EGR code.

its a toyota not a fxxxing GM

That's good to know, thank you Aric.
This is prolly a stupid question but I finally found the resistance that the gas temp sender is supposed to have. Not sure what the operating temp should be, ie what resistor I should permanently place inline.

69-89 ohm at (50°c, 122°f)
11-15 ohm at ( 100°c, 212°f)
2-4 ohm at (150°c, 302°f)

I'm thinking 11-15 ohm but I'm assuming that the middle range would indicate run normally and cold would imply choke and hot would want inert gas...

Thoughts?

isnt there a link somewhere?

i though gabe had actually purchased a plug and play JDM piece or something?

I thought I read the same thing somewhere too. I think it was a federal vehicle piece though? But I dont remember where I saw it.

I've read hours of threads on this and many of them say to use "resistor" but none say how many ohms. Have did but a plug and play but thus was years ago and he purchased the last two in existence (unlikely I know but seems confirmed) and Tyler does have one of them but has no idea where in his garage...

Also aside from somewhere between head and firewall, where does the hard pipe go that ends up in egr? Our will it be easier to try and plug it on the egr end?

Windshield- I think you could do it yourself, brand? I know some are tougher than others but I've seen OEM needing replacement so you decide.

You should get at least over 10 mpg on the road- I went to Florence and back with an average of 16 mpg. Ditto with about 8 mpg off-road. Have you made sure your PAR valve thingy isn't sucking air?

That's good to know, thank you Aric.

The fsm says it'll trip the code if the egr temp is less than 158 degrees. So I'd vote for around the 2 ohm range.

I have the JDM plug........ in my garage somewhere

PAV valve?

Thanks again Matt! lower is better it appears. :D

Oh and soaking O 2 sensors in pb blaster now...

Travis, what year is your cruiser?? Same engine as me(3FE)..?

So after looking at fsm and pictures of Tyler's cruiser it was pain enough to see the emission system was not connected properly when the motor swap was done on this cruiser. So rather than remove the intake, which I was consistently advised is exceedingly difficult, I opted to delete the egr. After resting the cel the mirror is finally idling between six and eight hundred rpm, as opposed to the previous 1000. Thank you guys for all of your help to this point, I'm sure more questions are coming your way. : cheers:

Tomorrow Aric is dropping off power steering pump. So if all goes well I should get that installed and have the O2 sensors moved by the end of the day.

No laser cut block off plug with a "TK" etched into it? How about some chrome metric acorn nuts at least- I know you Harley guys like the chrome..
Ok, so I was too chicken and ran out of time to block mine off. I'm curious as to what you're mileage will do.

Power steering still hemorrhaging fluid.
It appears to originate along this line...somewhere.

The low pressure return line is what I blew on McGrew a few years back. Rescue tape worked but the line just blew elsewhere. Easy fix and worth doing even if it isn't the problem.
