I work at a Lexus dealership and was able to pick up this pristine 2004 LX. I have already had all the baseline items completed here. My previous 2004 which I purchased with 160,000 miles had the shudder and either I learned to drive so that it would not shudder or with 60,000 miles of driving it went away mostly. Is there anything I should do to prevent it on the new one? The techs here dont seem to think I should do anything (we are aware of the service bulletin on the shudder). Just wanted to know what if anyone here had a different opinion...Thanks!

I’d make sure the fluid is at the correct level.

Do you have this TSB!
It may be worth sending off a same of your A/T fluid to BlackStone.

So often people do drain and fills. Two issues with this:
  • They add back, exactly amount came out. Never actually checking A/T fluid level.
  • Not knowing, what fluid or additive, may have been added to A/T, by PO. Resulting in, a mixing of fluids.
New temperature set level with A/T #1 fluid level at 97F to 115F, in 04-07.

The proper level makes a huge difference.
