Hey there, My name is Ben. I live in downtown Raleigh, been in the area my whole life. Ive had yotas for many years, but always wanted to step up to a Landcruiser! A few months ago a friend of mine picked up a 93 on a trade deal and asked if I was interested. The rest is history. Shes not perfect by any means but seems to be a decent rig to build off of. I have some PM issues that need to be addressed and will be doing some suspension upgrading along with bigger tires and a rear locker very soon. Looking forward to meeting you guys!

Hey, awesome! Good to meet you Ben!!

We have monthly meetings in the triangle on the first Wednesday of each month, usually at Rally Point in Cary. Come on out and bring your truck!!
 
Hey! ive actually met you before. I bought some chevy springs from you for my pickup (that I actually traded for the cruiser) a little while back.

That's right! You had the honda or acura at the time, right?

Yeah, I have the acura as my DD. No way in hell id drive the 80 to Hyco lake everyday! It will be a weekend warrior only.
 
What time do you guys meet? I don't get home til 7 from work.
 
Hey Ben. Welcome. Glad you wandered over here and pretty certain you will be too. There's a good group of folks here and lots of knowledge. I'm actually in the gso area but always send a shout out when I spot nc folks On the main forum.

Meetings are usually 7/7:30 until.

Seriously addictive habit you've chosen. But very rewarding. And a good group of folks that are VERY helpful. Just keep your giant lightbar and oversized tire mods to yourself... You might get the ONSC beatdown. ;)

Thans guys! Not sure ill be ready for the September ride as my 80 needs a lot of love. I plan on knocking things out at a decent pace so I can get out on the trails. Its been to uwharrie once and Carolina beach. Ive been to Harlan quite a few times in my old trucs and Tellico, etc in years past. Im looking forward to the cruiser life!
 
Hey Ben, even if the Cruiser is not ready for the trails, bring it anyways. You will have a blast just hanging out at the campsite and catching rides with other folks.
 
Yeah, not much of a rider haha. Ive been wheeling too long to ride with other people. I get ancy sitting in someone elses vehicle!

Very nice! i wondered whos white top 80 i saw in RDU a few weeks back.

Shoot thats a great start! not sure what maint you need to do but sliders and an aussie and your ready for everything out there. :wrench::wrench::wrench:

Metal tech has a sale every other month if their tube bumpers appeal to you. @Izzyandsue has one if you want to see what they look like on an 80.
 
Thanks! It needs some love for sure. It has a bad exhaust leak, various oil leaks on the front of the engine and valve cover, and the birfs are popping a little. I've already unhooked the EGR and PAIR at the manifold. I plan on removing it all and moving the 02 sensors...I want to do away with the ridiculously placed cats all together and get my fabricator friend to build me a y-pipe.
I have OME 851/860's and shocks sitting at the house. Sliders and rear locker will be next along with 315's.
