Hey,

Went out this morning and my starter was a bit excited and just didn't want to stop starting.

Disconnected the battery. Figuring this all has to do with the starter contacts as I've had this problem before.

Question is this: Do I just replace the starter with one from AutoZone, or hold out and replace just the starter contacts?

The crusier has 262k miles and i have no idea if the starter had ever been replaced. The challenge is this is the only vehicle my family can drive. I've got a CJ7 but it's just for around town also getting parts for the cruiser.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Step 1) determine exactly WHAT starter is in there right now (toyota or...)

Step 2) If toyota, get the correct (for the model starter you have) contacts & plunger from toyota (Cdan/Beno etc). If not toyota, toss it out and put in a recond toyota (Cdan/Beno etc) unit.

AND please ADD your model/year/location etc to your SIGNATURE so folk know what vehicle/model/year we're trying to answer your question about....

cheers,
george.
