I jump in the 80 yesterday and crank her up and I hear an unfamiliar sound so I shut her off and the engine is still cranking. I turn the key on again and it starts running, I turn the key off and it still cranking, I turn the key to on and it starts again, I turn the key off and it stops. I close my eyes and before me I see gold plated knitting needles and starving dogs living in New Mexico. I assume I need new starter contacts??? I have never heard the sound before but it's all clear to me now!? ( I should have left an entire box of cigars and a case of beer, Dan!!!) Ya got me.:flipoff2:

Make it easy on yourself. Get the plunger and spring as well. Heck, you might as well make yourself immune and get a front axle repack kit and a new PHH since I hear it's a snap to change the PHH when the starter's out. That may be enough of an 'offering' to make you immune for the summer....

One dried-out cigar (un-smoked tho, so that was a plus:D ) and a note..... Not even a warm beer.....:flipoff2:

Contacts and a plunger as soon as you can do it.

I've sent the man a few beer offerings over the years, best money spent on the cruiser.

LOL!...:hillbilly:

It's very important to train your clients properly at an early age.........;)

Once when I was changing my brake pads, the Shamans power hit me like a ton of bricks, next thing you know it I was dropping big money on OEM front and rear rotors. Fortunately for me I had made an offering before hand by purchasing the usual (phh, starter rebuild kit, alternator rebuild kit, and a very expensive tranny ecu) So far I've been lucky and he has ignored me. Be weary and make your offering before you upset him.

Good call on the PPH! I have been waiting for that to go. I checked the front birfs before and after I went to Moab and they are tight and dry. Inside grease is 3/4 full, right where it was when I filled it in Dec. And the funny thing is, I made a sizeable offering just before Moab???:frown:

What the H#$l was I thinking?!!!:o

Wisconsins best on the way. Cut the bottom off and remove contents from the bottom. You will understand when the unit arrives. And It's not milk. Please have mercy on me!

Whatever you do, don't ask him about any remaining block heaters. Just warning you not to ask about block heaters might get me a knitting needle in the axle repack arena, so don't ask about block heaters. They (block heater inquiries) appear to be some kind of anti-Kryptonite and may even override an otherwise good offering. So, just don't go there. I think he mentally paired his cracked dash pad with my block heater inquiry since they happened in the same time period. Bad mojo........

Did somebody say "cracked dashpad"?......

.........whistling and walking away...........nothing to see here, folks..................................................................................................
