I was just directed here by a member. Hello to All! I've been in Central Point for 3 years now coming from(you guessed it) So-Cal. I've an 89 FJ62 mostly stock awaiting replacement of the tranny which blew out a year ago. I've noticed this place is seriously lacking a large LCruiser presence. Anti- Import attitudes I presume? Hope to pick up a used Tranny/T-case combo this Saturday. Anyone out there know who might be good at installing it? I am past the time when I can do it myself. Thanks, Chris.

PS- I will always be in need of mechanical help/assistance since my spine was fused as a child I've got limited mobility. Just enough to get in, fire it up and Go! Hope to be on the road again soon.

Welcome! :D Sorry to say you just missed a club meeting last weekend, but we have a Christmas tree run planed for after thanksgiving. If your cruiser isn't up and running by then, you should find an empty seat and come along!

Thank you kindly. I'll keep the offer in mind. Pray for my cruiser.

Find a new tranny and we could always have a work day over there and swap them. With a knowledgeable group i bet we could be done by 4pm.

Thanks for all the welcomes. I am set to pick up the used Tranny/T-case combo this Saturday from a guy near Portland. I've been reading up lately on these trannies. I really wish I could afford to have mine rebuilt as good as new but alas- as usual we're stretched financially. About your offers to help swap these things out-how serious are you guys? I have not established myself up here with any good mechanics as yet. My good freind Danny of our So-Cal club(Goldcoastcruisers.com) was always the guy I went to for help. Instead of hiring someone to do the job maybe I'd be better off making a financial "gift" to your clubs treasury and take advantage of your offered mechanical gangbang on my rig? I'd be good for handing wrenches, cracking beers, serving sandwiches- you know- that kind of stuff. Think about it amongst yourselves and let me know, Chris.

I'm at 440 Freeman Rd. in C.P. I have a few tools and a couple floor jacks(cheapies) you can drop by any time and see if theres room here to do the work. Oh boy....Oh boy......

Where do you guys go to cut Christmas trees?

If we mak a pact to do it in a day flat I will volunteer my shop so we can be indoors and warm. I have the car trailer to bring it over if it can't be driven.

It still moves but sometimes in little spurts. A couple months ago i took it for a several block spin just to see if it could. Felt good to drive it again. To my knowledge there is no problem with the T-case. The one I'm picking up has the T-case attatched so maybe I'll have some extra parts available if a club member needs one. The Neutral safety switch was acting up-maybe loose, or shot. Also shifter has alot of looseness in it. It has I think 216K on it. Sure would be nice to get some help with it. Let me know. I have nothing planned for the weekend of the 20th. ??

Weekend of the 20th is open for me. I have zero experience in this field, but happy to help.

Christmas tree run..... Not sure we have figured out where yet.

I'm in! I'll make some time..... I would say I have tools and S*&# But if were over at the Jams house I'// just leave mine at home! I havent dropped a tranny in a while but I'm down like a brown clown!

I'm here! Or there, just let me know what you guys decide. Maybe some of you who will be around this Sunday can come by the house and say Hello. I'll be fartin' around the house all day pretty much. Thanks Jamister for offering a place warm to work. All it takes is about an hour on my back on a cold floor to be back on my cain to walk. I mean "cane". I'll check in again after work tonight, Chris.

The 20th it is. Let's get an early start... say 8am, I've got a going away party for a friend that night at 6pm so I will need to be done by then but we should be fine unless we run into serious problems. mobydick I would say you should count on breakfast and lunch for everyone. Breakfast burritos and maybe a pizza...beverages wouldn't hurt either ?? We should plan getting your cruiser over here either Thursday night or Friday night so we don't keep everyone waiting. I would say attempt to drive it and I can come meet you with the trailer or tow strap if it doesn't make it. My address is 1089 Brookdale ave, Medford 97504. Also everyone should bring basic tools so we aren't all trying to use the same socket... ie sockets/wrenches/extensions...
