FYI - there are 3 sets of 16" LC rims on Ebay right now! Go get em boys!

Not on purpose. If I was doing it on purpose, I wouldn't have said anything! Actually I have been talking to Exiled for a week or more and finally got the deal done this morning. Good luck in your search. Hopefully you'll find a sweet deal...:grinpimp:

Vouching for Pint, we'd been talking about the wheels for over a week.

Thanks...
 Can't open my ebay account now... I have to wait... tonight

All 2008 Tundra rims fit. Same bolt pattern and offset as stock. The only 'downside' is that they are 18" and up... Either way I mounted the TRD machined finish ones that someone sold on ebay so they could pimp their ride...

So... I found two things on Ebay (I asked them for shipping)

One set (I don't follow the chromed set) of LC wheels, good looking
One tundra's 18" set of wheel with BFG 275/65"rugged trails" (new rims, new tires)
The price of the wheels+tires seem to be interresting (less than 1000$)and my Michelin are probably on their last season, but what about the "rugged trails" feedback.

On third hand, some canadian LX rims but don't know the price yet

Another question...
I don't have the center cap... do I have to put LX's on LX rim, or Toyota's fit (et vice et versa) ?

You have pics of the TRD wheels installed?

center caps fit with modification on the tundra rims. the toyota caps will fit the lx rims perfectly.

If you're gonna paint them, you should do it yourself. Otherwise, you might want to look to get them powdercoated.

I'vejust let them at a "rimsmith" found in Ottawa.135$ per rim... a little bit expensive, but for this price they'll look absolutely brand new, in the color of my choice.could be ready friday, otherwise I'll get them back in two weeks , after my hollydays.

Paint or PowderCoat???

OursSauvage the new wheels will make the cruiser look much better....

Is this price ($135 per rim) for powdercoating or painting? I called about getting my factory 16" wheels powdercoated yesterday and got quoted $75-80 per wheel and he asked what color i wanted... I was considering flat or gloss black but the other problem is I need the tires dismounted because the wheels get put in a large oven after powdercoating and I don't have another set to ride on while the coating takes place.... All this is also making me consider a second set of wheels as well....

So I guess my question for everyone would be recommendations for painting or powdercoating? Seems like powdercoating would be more durable? Would tires need to be dismounted while painting takes place? Does anyone have pictures of wheels they painted themselves? What method have others used to paint wheels themselves?

Sorry for all the questions but I'm trying to do the same thing myself....

OursSauvge,

I am in the same boat as you. I just bought an 03 LX470 that came with 20" chrome rims. I off-road quite a bit and these just won't do. So I have been hunting for wheels as well. I like the powder coat, but if I were you I would look at the 06/07 hyper silver wheels that came on the LX. They are like a graphite finish. They are 18" and I know you said you wanted 16,s, so if you do some some extreme four wheelin stick with the 16's, but if just do some moderate four wheelin I would go with the 18's. They are sweet lookin. Good Luck in your search,

Quentin

I painted my wheels on the 80 and they turned out great. I did have them sandblasted and primed them first. Painting does add the ability to easily touch up rock rash.

Currently I am looking for a set of LX 16" rims to do the same thing with for my 100.

What's up with this fascination with "black" wheels ??? To me they look like dirty wheels with a load of brake dust on them :crybaby:. YUK...They do nothing for me !! To each his own tho !!

Its all a personal thing. I've noticed more and more cars with black wheels instead of chrome or anything else lately. Black works, at least for me since i made all my chrome trim black including the thin strips of chrome in the plastic door moldings.

I wish I had done black wheels 4-5 years ago before the "craze" over black wheels. Maybe I like it from watching too much NASCAR growing up. Either way the OEM wheel color just doesnt flow with the rest of the vehicle on lots of the different colored trucks. Works well on silver and white but not so much the rest. SINCITY's truck confirmed my goals of wanting to have black wheels a long time ago.

Its just another way to modify your truck and make it look different I guess. I really like the Porsche Cayennes with the black trim package and black wheels on the slate/meteor gray paint.

Just back from hollydays ...

Why black wheels ?
I would prefer be killed than looking like this:

So... I'm going in the opposite direction, as I previously did on my HJ61
But anyone do as he feels

To me they look like dirty wheels with a load of brake dust on them . YUK...They do nothing for me !!
So... we are not on the same planet... I noticed that before...
