Josh had the oem roof rack removed and roof painted to match the side cladding and wheels to match as well. He will be able to tell you what was used paint wise.

Bumper CAD

Cool bumper!! Are they using CAD or CNC program to design and build?

I'm feeling inspired to download Sketchup and start drawing!

I just stopped by their shop. These guys are doing one hell of a job on his rig. :). Looks great. The paint on the wheels are best I've seen. Rear bumper now has a ladder. Got prices on my rig. Great shop to get anything done.

I have a OEM snorkel sitting on the shelf. I am too afraid to do the cuts :-(
Please let me know how the project go and how you dealt with the Antenna

Nice build! I can't wait to see the finished product!

That's definitely a CNC cut on the steel plates that are tacked up....

So, the stock rear crossmember is obviously still there. Did they just skin it with some 1/4" plate cut to fit?

Thought I would advertise for them !!

-The plate on the bumper is drawn then plasma cut out

-The paint like Mike said was just a color match to the molding on the lower half

-Gumby94, thanks for swinging by, it was great talking with you, hope we can get yours in for some goodies soon!

-Rami also thanks for getting in touch, soon as we have the snorkel on Mikes I'll put up some pictures and make sure we will be ready for yours :D

Here is a picture of progress on the ladder/tire section of the swing out...trying to fit a lot of stuff in a tight area :D

??? Why two spindles but only one swing out?

sweet!
Can you post some pics of how the bumper mounts to the frame... Thanks

Very nice. From this design I could envision a kit that allows you to take the side wings and mate them into the existing rear cross-member. This would reduce overall weight while still providing better protection than the OEM plastic wings. Something similar to picture below. I think this has been done, but the costs were prohibitive. It would be cheaper to ship than a full bumper.

Cartercd, now that's what I'm talking about! I dig full bumpers, but would like something simple to protect the rig. Metal tech's 80' has tube protection with a similar idea. They said, one day soon they will be production, but not yet...

Also, I really dig the OP's rig, bumper and all! One day, perhaps I'll take the plunge into a full expedition setup for my LX!

Really digging that bumper, seeing it made out of plate gives me hope I can make my own. Wish my rear crossmember was not all bent up.

Well the bumper is headed to powder. I should have it back sometime within the next day or two. Mike has some pictures to post if he chooses to do so
