New Pig - Need ideas for paint job

I just bought a '72 FJ55 on Saturday. I kind of got hooked on the look of these classic trucks. Currently it's in a sad state. It looks as if it used to be the red and white colors. Right now it's more of an orange and off white. I know eventually I'm going to repaint (after I take care of some rust issues), but I'm not really sure what to go with. I was going to do it myself so I just need some ideas.

I would post some ideas but I'm not really sure how to load a picture directly from my hard drive instead of doing a URL. I'm going to try and attach a picture and see how it works out.

What ever color you paint it be sure to go with the 2 tone. I love the way it looks.

I'm pretty new. Is it a post thing? I've only done like 5 or so. Or am I just attaching pictures wrong?

your most likly attaching them wrong.

Make sure they are in .jpg or .gif form.

-Then click on the "go adavanced" button in posting.
-Next click on manage attachments
-Click the "browse" button.
-Locate the desired pic on your hard drive and click "Open"
-Click on "Upload" and make sure that is adds them. It will say weither or not hte images were added. If they wern't then it will tell you why.
-Click on "close this window"
-Type atleast 3 charators in the text section they click "Submit Reply"

Should be good to go.

You should go with the rare pumpkinseed orange or whatever its called. I have never seen anybody paint their 55 with it as of yet. I agree you definitely need to stay two tone though.

It may be. I haven't had time to really look through the original color codes. The guy I bought it from had a Hayes manual with it and I thought I saw something on this forum about colors too.

Anyway I'll email you the pictures since I can't upload anything yet.

If I remember correctly Orange and White only came in one year.I thought it was an 1973 only color... but maybe some late 72's came in that color too... heck as rare as that color is maybe you should stay with it.... OrangeCrush
