I want a sequoia. Why? There's just me and the wifey. No people to haul. No boat... I simply want one.

I've read about the nightmare with the air pump online. That is why I don't have a sequoia.

I tried the search. Patience has never been my thing I need to know if this... $7000 ? to repair the air pump thing is real... I need to know all about it.

It's not real you can bypass it for a few hundred dollars. Hewitt Tech makes a good kit. Just installed one on a 2010 they make them for all models with the secondary air issue. Mine was done under warranty long ago. I wouldn't let it frighten you from buying 1

bypass is about 400 dollars. replacing the air pumps, valves and gaskets are about 2400-3000, if its not under warrantee than I would just bypass it. extended warrantee is for 07-10 sequoias and tundras, 150k miles or 10 year dofu whichever comes first

When you "bypass it" do you remove it, completely, or just disable it? Will it still pass emissions? We have no emissions testing now but who knows what the future may bring...

From Hewitt tech site referencing a p2445. A blown air pump fuse or damaged air pressure sensors are exceptions that need to be addressed at the same time to ensure the Hewitt-Tech bypass module works.
You could have a blown fuse

I saw a reply from it looked like a Hewitt rep on the 120 series forum. He said the bypass kit is “illegal” and meant for off road use only and can cause you to fail an emissions check. If it’s noticed. I think I read that right.
