Hi - i'm new to land cruisers, my first is a 1996 Prado RX (KZJ90W) in green over silver imported from japan to the UK - hope i'm in the right part of this huge forum.

I'm trying to find out the paint codes so i can order some touch up pens... all i can find on the VIN plate in the engine bay is Color:K11 Trim: FH10.
But i can not find the colur code K11 in any internet searches...

hope somebody can help point me in the right direction for a touch up pen !

For LandCruiser stuff you can check the bible here:http://www.birfield.com/modules.php?name=TLCFAQ&p=/~ramullen/FAQ/TEXT/13-00.html

At a quick glance I did not see K11 though.

I gave the paint number 155 to a local autobody shop just the other day, thier database showed it as Toyota dark grey, and they made a rattle can up for me. I was suprised as afaik 155 was never used in Canada.

Phone the code to an auto body suply store; Maybe you will have the same luck.

Hey Greg,
How much does a matched rattle can cost?
Thanks,
Deny

thanks Greg.. after some more searching, i think i've discovered that the code K11 refers to the two tone colour combination... but haven't managed to find out what the exact shade of green and shade of silver it refers to !

local body shops don't have the code K11... and the local Toyota dealer was most unhelpful!

See if you can find a body shop that has a color analyzer. It's a gizmo that can be held against existing paint and dialed in to give an exact match without knowing a color coding. It may go by any sort of name but the function will be the same.

Failing that find a site with international Toyota color codes - maybe a british paint supplier's website.
Something like this place: http://www.autocolorlibrary.com/scripts/depot.exe?pgm=aclgate.bbx
but with an international focus.

i tried their gizmo on one of my trucks, the colour was close but no where perfect...
cheers

Guess there's gizmos, and then there's gizmos. The one that I knew about was a computer linked probe with software that could adjust colors like a good photo enhancing program does. It had unlimited shades and tones that could be manipulated on screen and it would spit out a formula of tints to duplicate the desired color. Operator intensive as the program couldn't adjust for age or fading of the original paint without user intervention.
Then there's cheap little hand-held gizmos that don't always get red right even.

Can someone help me out with this paint code? 21M, from what I read off the plate in the engine bay.

It's a two tone BJ74 with black as the main color and silver trim along the bottom and silver frp top. From googling the color and visiting various paint code sites, I haven't come up with any results.

If you don't have a local shop, try ppg paint online. They have a database--you just stick in your paint code by make and year, and they can make rattle cans for $20+shipping, same $$$ Greg quotes. I just received my test can today for some hardtop work; I'll let you know how close it is (but my truck was repaint ~5 yrs. ago...).
