Had her about 6 months and love her. Just got the wife a 2013 gx460 and man it is nice, now I want the lx570. Should I pull the trigger?
mine has 142k almost pristine condition. It had all the major work done to it with service records all I have done is replace the front shocks with oem for ahc. They were weeping a bit when I bought it.

Looks nice! GLWS. I'd suggest posting some underbody photos as everyone will want to see them before figuring a value.

To answer your question on pulling the trigger, I say no. Hold onto that mint truck.

The Power of the 570 is wonderful but the 470 honestly feels much the same and even more fun to drive. You have 1 more stage of adjustment on the AHC too, which is nice. Styling wise the 470 is way cleaner and less bulbous.

As for quality and long term durability ,I really believe the 470 will be a longer lived vehicle. The UZJ100 was designed in the mid 90s right in an economic boom time for Japan and the electronic saturation in the 570 won't help it's case. I truly believe the quality of the 470 is better.

Here in Australia there have been a few troubles with the 200 series, electronics and also Injector issues with the diesel, not that that concerns you.

Having sold various 470s and 570s side by side this is my opinion. Another pet peeve on ths 570s is the glove compartments are almost always broken and not closing properly.

Thanks lx470max, that is very helpful and insightful. I like the looks of the 570 so that's not an issue but the other things you mentioned are worth taking a look at. I don't do any off road stuff a little snow in the winter when I go to Lake Tahoe but that's about it. I do want something that will last a long time and from what I have read these 470's are pretty durable.

I've had both I like the 470. More truck less Bentley

Though not a 570 I was shocked at how different a 200 drove vs. a 100. Soft brake pedal, obtrusive hood, bigger A pillars, lower windshield.

Yet I still want one. Amazingly that desire still has not gone away.

Im waiting to buy a 570 (I will one day, its not a question in my mind) until I understand how to get the modifications and use cases right the first time. The aftermarket for the 100 series is massively widespread and relatively inexpensive. This gives me a few years to try all the things out with the family (camping, 4-wheeling, trailering overlanding, road trips, etc) and figure out what I need, what they'll tolerate, and what is worth how much to me.

THEN I can spend the money confidently on the 570 (where it costs a lot more to do various things, if they can even be done) knowing that I'll get my use out of it.

Point in case: I am attempting to build the 100 for overlanding through central america. Long dirt roads with massive potholes mean that everything rattles itself to death, chokes on dust, and suffers in the heat. It is costing me a few thousand to build up the 100 to do it. It would cost me a lot more to build a 570 (especially in depreciation due to such thorough use).

It may turn out that my career or my family or my (whatever) may keep me from ever spending a lot of time south of the border. Net risk, 100-series: 10-15k 200-series:30-40k$

Just a thought and my 2 cents.

Even street use alone:

I you bought a 140k 100-series LX470 in good shape for $16k and then put 150,000 miles on it and then sold a 290,000 mile truck in good shape for (conservatively) $10k. Total cost $6k

If you bought a 50k 200-series LX570 for $55k and put 150,000 miles on it, you might be able to get $25k for it (maybe). Total cost $30k

The LX570 is absolutely nice. I also drive a 991 Turbo S and an E63 wagon. I like my nice cars. But an LX470 is NOT a bad place to be, and its a lot easier to beat on a $16k truck.

I have both. The are totally different animals. 570 is great for the family hauler. The 100 is ideal for a personal vehicle as it is smaller, and feels more nimble. Again, love them both but the 100 is just the perfect size for a everyday personal vehicle. I chose this over a 4 door 1/2 ton pickup. The LX feels iike a boat with soft everything. Great vehicle but just not something I would want to slug around every day.

so this is the op. do you guys think im asking to much for the truck? i have it for sale at 21500. it is in pristine condition and all the service is done. any feedback would be appreciated

I'm new to the 100s. I just bought an 04 LC one week ago in Phoenix. Good condition (not pristine like yours), LC and not an LX, white with 141,000 miles. I got a good deal. Paid $11k.

You might get it, but you may need to hold on to it for a while before finding a buyer to shell out that kind of coin. My guess; the price may be a bit high.
