New OEM windshield making me dizzy

I recently had my 2013 Land cruiser's windshield replaced at Lexus dealership in Austin. The new windshield for some reason is making me dizzy and nauseated.

I have read about non-OEM glasses causing that due to imperfection, but has anyone experienced that with OEM replacement?

Vision nausea, there is no odor at all. I feel weird optical imperfection but cannot pin point what’s causing that.

I would verify you received an actual Lexus factory replacement. Some dealers sub out the glass work and who knows what you got?

I know it is OEM factory part because the parts were ordered Nov and got the part in Feb due to everything being back ordered.

At the Lexus dealership I go to buy the parts themselves and have a third party installer just install the windshield.

They ordered brand new dam and moldings along with windshield.

Is there any possibilities of defects or uneven surface with OEM windshield?

I have young kids in the back, not sure if they notice. The windshield was replaced few days ago.

I read online that many suffer from it if the windshield has distortion.

Do you see waves in the glass? I have that issue on my Avalon. All factory glass. I noticed it on my passenger window after getting tint and thought it was a tint install error, then I noticed it on my windshield as well which wasn't touched.

FWIW, for the 100 series, I've seen OEM replacement windshields come from outside of Japan (Indonesia). In other words, new glass ordered from Lexus may or may not be the same as your factory glass.

According to the invoice it’s a exact Toyota part that was in quote given Autonation Toyota. Decided to go with Lexus because that’s where I get other cars serviced and they were cheaper by $300 compared to Autonation Toyota.

It took them three months to get the part.

Just to be clear... When you look through your new windshield, you do not see any distortion, right?

My wife had a windscreen replaced in her Audi a few years ago with third party glass. Similar sensation for me. I couldn't see any distortion, but I found myself constantly trying to refocus as I panned around the window. Especially in the curved edges. Made me dizzy! Had them replace it and it was fine. Deb didn't see it, so maybe something with her vision vs. mine. I get the same sensation when I use glasses with the astigmatism correction even a tiny bit off.

On a side note, the Japanese are extremely picky with their glass quality. When Honda built the plant here in Ohio, they sourced PPG molded glass. They were not happy with the quality no matter how much PPG tried. They ended up shipping duplicates of their glass molds from Japan to Ohio, and Japanese sourced plate glass. Then had several employees (including my Dad) spend six weeks in Japan learning how to mold glass properly. Even the tiniest flaw was scrapped. Maybe Toyota is similar in their QC at the plant in Japan.

I suspect the best way to detect distortion that bothers you is if I makes you dizzy! I would get if replaced, but too bad about the wait!

Check on the glass itself for a toyota/lexus logo and more importantly whether there is any indication where it was made. Usually in the passenger side lower corner.

I don’t seem to find any obvious distortion. But I sense that some lines in center and right periphery are not always straight. More noticeable when there is bright light.

Says Toyota AGC above the VIN on drivers side.

I am reading other forums (not land cruiser) where people are saying they had experienced this. Even with OEM glasses
