Given the large amount of chitchat and internet tuff guy talk that is occurring, I've opted to add a 2nd moderator to this section to assist in keeping the tech talk on track...

Welcome FirstToy to the mod team!!

His exerience with similar Toyota rigs and with moderation on other sites should be helpful - thanks for stepping up and assisting!!

Thanks Woody.
The purpose of tech is to gain information to enjoy your FJ Cruiser, ask technical questions, comments & modifications, etc.

Chit-chat, personal attacks and trolling simply set the wrong tone and makes it difficult to search for tech info.

If you find objectionable threads, PM me. I would like this forum to grow in a very positive and fun way for the FJC owners

I am a new member and was a little disappointed with the tone. Good move, I think. Is there a thread on purchase prices and dealers that don't want over list? Toyota of Dallas sold a silver loaded one yesterday and claim to have gotten $8,500. over MSRP. Stout!
JRB

pricing/dealer stuff has zero tech content ;) , but there is a thread on that stuff...might be on page 2 or 3 already tho....

Congrats FirstToy!!!!

Congrats James! I promise I won't troll here since Shotts hangs out on the 100 series board. Does this mean you are shopping for an FJC?

Is it ironic or coicidence that this is a non-tech thread about moderating this forum to make sure it remains tech-focused?
:D
The argument could be made that since it pertains only to this forum it is in the correct place.

Moderators are a key resource of compiling technical information. It's important for everyone to know who the mods are and develop a relationship with them. It's also important to remember that this is a non paying voluntary job. We do it because we want to make the forum better.

One thing your two moderators could probably use help in is developing the FAQ. For examples of what I mean, look at the FAQ developed in the 80's section by the forum members. This forum will be what you make of it.

https://forum.ih8mud.com/showthread.php?t=84888 - Use this as an example of what you could do for the FJ Cruiser

As people did mods and reserached other items, they posted them in threads to share what they learned. These then became linked to make the FAQ.

Already noticed you've been cleaning house... very nice. I hope you never have to delete any of my post....

LOL good one.

No, I am just volunteering my time to help clean up this little corner of Mud :)

Thanks for the suggestions Romer

again, if there are problems, anyone can PM me.
On a positive note, I'll scan and try to pitch in with regards to the FAQ.

FirstToy - Welcome to the team. I hate to do this to you, but I am going to be out of pocket for 5 weeks starting tomorrow (27th May) and returning 3 July.

Good luck and I'll be of more assistance once I get back.

Michael
