Hi all,

Some of you probably saw my thread asking for buying advice. Well thanks to some confidence inspiring words, I can say that I'm excited to be a new LC owner!

The wife and I drove out to Mount Joy, PA this past weekend and picked up a black '06 with a hair over 139K on it. It's loaded, Nav, AHC, rear DVD, leather etc. and I'm really excited about this purchase. I traded in my '06 STI for it and what a difference. My STI had 79K on it and because I took care of it, it probably felt more like 40K driving it down the road. Well this LC with 139K feels like 20K when you take it down the road, unbelievable!

All in all, very excited for this truck. It will most likely become the tow rig when it comes time for another fun car, but for right now it will eat up the miles between ski and summer road trips.

Enough is enough: here are some pictures!

Great looking LC! Congrats! And yes it will be a great vehicle to tow to your next SCCA meet!

Thanks B3A5T! There is definitely some towing in its future, maybe not for a few years, but I can wait.

On a related note, I tried plugging in a hair dryer to the outlet (with a converter plug of course) to help get that ugly dash paneling off and I think I blew a fuse because the outlet no longer works. I checked the manual but can't figure out which fuse to check, any help?

I test drove that car a few weeks back when they first got it. Seemed like a really nice truck. Did they replace both the cvs? They were leaking pretty badly but otherwise the truck was in great shape.

The acc fuse is behind the driver footwell panel. Or at least it is on my 99.

Congrats on your new purchase. I am also a newbie but so far this thing has been a pleasure to drive. Great color too. It's like the evil version of mine. Mine is white. Haha.

Well that explains why both the CV's looked so damn new! Good to know that someone else actually took it for a spin, did you notice anything else you would have checked out?

Yeah these are one of the few vehicles that can pull off white, congrats!

Saw that online - looks really nice. What does the sign in your windshield say? Something for the parking authorities?

I didn't notice anything else, it seemed like a very solid truck. Was surprised to see how nice the underside was. I cycled the AHC, center diff lock and had it in 4lo for a bit and everything worked well.

It had some pretty old tires on it, not sure if they replaced them or not but if not you'll need to do that relatively soon and nice that you can select the tire and size that you prefer.

Welcome to the family. I got the same color but I like your dark grey leather a bit better than my tan. Either way, great choice of vehicle. It really is amazing how well built they still feel even into the upper mileage. Take care of her and she will take care of you.

So did you replace the woodgrain with that black paneling? If so do you have a link to where I can purchase? Thanks.

Nice ride. That is the interior im looking for as well. I dont like the light beige as it does not hide dirt well. Did you say you took the wood trim off with a hair dryer?

Yeah that was one thing they were clear about from the get-go. Probably not this winter but most likely next. I like the way they ride, Toyota OC AT's so perhaps I'll go the same route when it comes time to change. But I do like the idea of being able to choose as opposed to being stuck with whatever is on there until they're gone.

Thanks, I was lucky to get the combo I wanted so the idea is to hold on to this one for a while and treat her right.

Yep, heat up the trim as you're peeling it back and it makes things a lot easier. Just be careful not to scratch the plastic underneath of you'll be kicking yourself later. There was very little residue so whatever was left came off with Go-Gone. Very happy with the results as I didn't care for the "blackwood" veneer Toyota put on there. There may be some plasti-dip in the future but I'm happy for now.

Congrats spaber! Nice to see another LC in the beantown area! I wasn't seeking a black one, but I really love it. Looking forward to the first snow fall! BTW, I put Michelin LTX MS/2's on mine and I'm very happy with them.

Thanks man! I was going for either black or gray and there weren't very many options out there but I'm happy with what I ended up with. I too am looking forward to ski season and the road trips to VT in the new truck. I'll keep the Michelins in mind, I'm liking the semi-aggressive tread on the Toyos that are on it, but I probably have a year to it out.

Right now I'm fighting with the Bluetooth as my phone isn't "finding" the truck for some reason :( Definitely not my phone as I didn't have issues with the last car. Hope it's a simple fix!

Would you be so kind as to tell me how much you paid for it? I am shopping right now and would like to know pricing for comparisons sake.

Oakk, I paid $22k for it and they had it listed for $23K. I had a trade so that does change things a bit (they can mess with the numbers more) but that price seemed about right for what was available. I probably could have gotten a little more off but they had another buyer who stopped in the day before I got there but couldn't get financed on the spot and was coming back next week if I didn't pick it up.

Hope that helps.

Hmmm no idea about the hair dryer, is it one that pulls tons of electricity? There's a plug in the rear of the 100 that may be able to handle more amps than the cigarette outlet. I've used it to work an electric pump and to run a cooler.
I too had a STI stage II Cobb tuned, very fun. These days I've slowed down and I'm running a TR6 OD. Mainly rallies. The hundy does great taking us there!

Here's some pics of it getting ready for a Rally in Cancun and hopefully if I can get the rear suspension stronger then the Panamericana next year!

About that fuse! Look under the dash left of the brake pedal. You will see one of the fuse boxes (there are more under the hood) I would check the "cigar" one.

Thanks! I actually pulled the PWR OUTLET one all the way at the end (which was blown) so that seemed to do the trick. Now if you are also a bluetooth expert that would be great! haha
