At that point in time I was running 7.50 x 16" Michelin XZY 16 ply steel belt radials on it. They were are good tyre , well they cost over $500 AUD each !! but they did last me for 7 years and did over 180,000 kms. For handling on road they were the best I ever had but the down side was they were terrible in the sand , they were to heavy and ridgid , I had to let them down once in some real soft sand and had ended up with the rims spinning inside the tyres.

I have now switched to Hankook 7.50 x 16" they are a quarter of the price and love the sand , and not too bad on the road.
