I bought a 1996 LX450 about 4 weeks ago, this is my first post. I have been reading this forum for a while doing research on the 80 series. I have wanted one of these vechicles for a long time. In 1997 I was interested in one but there was no way I could afford the cost, instead I bought a 98 Tracker (which has been a very good vehicle). Over the years i have watched the price decrease on the 80 series to a point where I could afford one. The 96 I bought is a one owner with 86,000 thousand miles, its seems to be in great condition, it came form the Houston area. It does not have differential locks, I wanted one with locks but the ones I had seen for sale were either high mileage or came from where there's lots of salt on the roads. I have started doing some of the PM, stuff that I don't think the PO did much of. So far I don't have any complaints but I do wish they were offered with a manual transmision. For now the only modification I am planning is an ARB front bumper, (there are lots of deer here).

Excellent looking truck and I am sure you got a great deal on it. Cheers and welcome.:flipoff2:

ARB

I learned the hard way, get an ARB.....I had a spare jump out of a truck or a trunk and attack me last night. Only have had my rig for a month and looks just like yours. As a matter a fact, I think I saw yours on E-bay. Nice rig.

Very nice looking rig, good luck with it! I'm sure you will love it. Welcome to "MUD".

WOW!

Nice find, and practically new.

Welcome.

Looks very nice...I wish mine was still in that condition, but some of the trails here in Colorado can be a little unforgiving. Congrats on the purchase!

:flipoff2:..........Welcome...Paint those center caps and that thing will flawless..

That is great looking truck. I have the same color LX. Seems to be a lot of those around in that color.

Very nice :flipoff2: Welcome to MUD

You say only mod is an ARB for now, in a few years I bet it will look like this

Good looking truck...I am jealous!

Thanks for the kind words from everyone. I painted the center caps last week, I read several member write ups here on how to paint them, they look a lot better now. I wish it could look like yours in few years Romer, I found this forum by surfing the web and finding the ROTW write up you done on your rig, it is one of the best i have seen.

Wow, that was an excellent find. Very nice looking rig. Welcome to the pink panties brigade :flipoff2: Don't worry if it does not have lockers but you have a low mileage rig. You can add lockers later. PM tool's r us if you want something like this window sticker so you can get pimped and proud of you pink panties:cheers::D

Or like this if you don't want boring black bumpers and a cattle pusher on the front! Just kidding those are nice rigs.
