new member and new to me 89 FJ 62

Got lucky and got a 89 FJ62 with a SOA conversion. It was done by a professional welder and it looks pretty good. Also have 4.88's and detroits in both pigs as well.

Interior's in good shape. Few dents but no rust.

Its fun as hell to drive and gets alot of good looks.

The ole straight 6 is pretty gutless though. Any good ideas for power adders other than an LS swap? and is there anyone in
the OKC area with a 6-62 with an LS in it? or a 4BT? would like to see it in person and visit about it

Welcome to the forum, nice lookin rig. Engine options are many, just depends on your intended purpose and ultimately what you like. I've heard 4bt has some clearance issues but you have that covered with the lift.

Leaning more to the LS/4L60/65E swap. Seems to be pretty common. Real question is do I get a 6.0 or just a 5.3 or 5.7

Or....that guy in the resurrected Ford 300 I6 thread was offering up a Cadillac 500 cubic inch motor for a swap. Cause you know....there's no replacement for displacement.

4.8 and 78/75 turbo
