Hey everybody, I figure I'll get this thread going early to introduce myself and follow my upcoming build with my 01 Diesel cruiser coming from Japan, currently at 167k km, grade 3.5, old man spec. Should be arriving May/June. I plan to build it into a simple camping/light wheeling/road trip vehicle, 2-3" lift, 285/75R17's, and a turbo back right off the bat. Eventually I'll likely do bumpers sliders and lighting but I'm not in a rush with how weak the Canadian dollar is!

I've been a Toyota guy my whole life starting with my highschool project, 1987 Cressida with R154/1UZ swap (still got the old girl). Previous wheeling vehicle was a 99 4runner SR5 manual. Looking forward to getting to know some people on here and learning along the way!

In typical Canadian fashion I'm still waiting for my truck to arrive because of our messed up ports! In the meantime my wheels and tires showed up (5th spare not pictured) I threw them on my dads old tundra that I'll be borrowing now and again for camping. Excited to see these on the cruiser! Went with 285/70R17 Falken AT3's, got em for a steal.

Finally got the truck. I'll be going through it this week and hopefully have it registered by Friday! The short drive home was fun, right hand drive is pretty different!

I did have an odd surprise, it came on original 4x4 Engineering Bradley V's, which are extremely rare and no longer produced... Might have to run these and sell the Methods. I think it would be sacrilege to replace them with wheels made in China

Haha, yes the boat it came on was Comet Ace, and my Japanese neighbour tells me that the katakana writing on the back window says "Lan Kuru" - short form Japanese for Land Cruiser. Gotta appreciate the small details like that. I'll share more pictures when I go through it this week, should be more fun to work on than rusty Alberta trucks!

Finally got my Dobinsons lift with SPC uppers. Easy install, JDM's are a real joy to work on compared to rusty canadian trucks. Seems to me like indexing the T bars 5 splines might not be enough. I believe going with 6 splines to get 21" from center hub to fender will put the tensioner in a more neutral position while achieving my desired 2" of lift.

Wow sick truck man. Who did the importing?

Also, greetings from Manitoba.
Thanks man, despite it being a little dusty/grimy underneath, its incredibly clean. B-Pro did the importing

i think those wheels look awesome on there, and it's so cool that you got all 5
I'm very happy with them, I just had them powder coated at Calgary Powder Coating before throwing the Falken AT4W's on. Great price, great results!
