This is how it looked when I first bought it... It was for sale on the side of the road heading over the hill to Palm Springs... the guy wanted $600 for it.. I bought it on the spot.

I really liked a lot of what I have seen on these forum's, so I pretty much used others ideas... Here are the fender extentions, I did cut in the tail lights.. don't think I've seen that one?? I extended the front end and extra couple of feet. Added the 19 gallon water tank from AT trailers, got a nose box (black) from jeggs..

Keeping it going

I added a compressed air bottle inside, Kept the original chains and lunett ring, and stand. I added a crank down stand to level things.. Here is a picture of the underside of the top. I'm going to try something different with the lid, instead of springs I am going to install a 12v screw type lift like you would find on a large boat cover.. why not? I will make it so in case the thing breaks, i still can get into the dang thing!! I bought a CVT RTT which will mount on top after I paint it.

Holder for fire ext.jpg

Lid Hinge.jpg

Built a holder for the fire ext. The switches will operate the LED lights inside the trailer and in the nose box a third one will operate the lid lift. Inside the nose box I have two 6volt golf cart batteries hooked in sync with a trickle charger a small water pump (for the shower). There will be a shut off switch inside so no one can just walk up and open the lid. The hinges I bought at Escondido metal sales..

Tire mock up.jpg

Propane tank from AT Trailer, I think I am going to get another one and bolt along side this one. I did a spring over, 3500lb axel, new shocks. Bought some reall cool black Method 301 16X8 rims with MT 10 ply (tread and sidewall) tires 33x11.5.. looks way way cool. The tire in the pic is just for measuring axel length... I think it ended up being about 60" from face of hub to face of hub.. I think?? I'ts pretty wide, but that's OK
Plan is to paint the lower part of the trailer "fenders and frame" black and the tub and top silver matching the rig

Do you have an underside view of how you extended the A frame?

actually did not take one of the underside.. the rails go back about mid way into the frame.. it's for sure not going anywhere!! I'll take one and post it so you can see...

How does it ride/tow with a spring over axle compared to the stock setup?

Thinking about doing a SOA with my leaf sprung trailer

no idea...not finished quite yet, I am taking it to Death Valley at the end of the month, guess I'll see then. Frankly a bit concerned, there is a lot of washboard roads there and I hop everything dosn't get beat to @#$%. We'll see
