If you are troubled by a strange loping or chugging in your 2F, I finally located a serious culprit that could help. Like many I went through a complete intake/exhaust gasket replacement, redecked the manifolds, and changed out all the vacuum lines. Still the issue persisted.
When reinstalling the lower EGR pipe, I noticed that the pipe was rattling near the EGR cooler. Basically the farrel and fitting that connect the pipe to the EGR cooler were rusted and gaping with leaks. I pulled these out and welded the pipe to the cooler.
No more chugging.
