Just purchased a 2004 Lexus gx 470. So far I'm extremely excited to own such an awesome car. Drives great and has a great road presence. Has a few issues but nothing too difficult. So far the only thing I've noticed is the power mirrors seem stuck. They work but not well, the windows all work but don't go down from the drivers control panel. Also the rear Ac is blowing warm. The front Ac works great just the rear is warm. I understand it's an 11 year old car and it's going to need some work but for the most part it's a solid car.

For the rear A/C: there is a servo motor that controls the cold air blend doors (on the floor, likely under the driver's seat area). This motor opens the door that flows air from the front A/C ducting into the rear when the rear A/C is turned on (or the system is operated in "AUTO" I believe). The servo could be bad or not getting the signal from the rear A/C amplifier.

Nice GX, BTW! Color me jealous :bounce:

Thanks for the advice. Is this something that can be opened manually and left alone or am I better off replacing the bad motor?

I'm not completely familiar with how the system works on the 120-GX...the motor may sit right atop the door or it may actuate a shaft through the duct. If the motor is right at the door itself, I don't see why you couldn't get in there some how and prop it open or physically remove the door. I'll look into it a bit more and see what I can come up with.

go to each window switch on each door and press and hold the window switch down to roll the window rolls down. continue to hold it for about 3 seconds after the window has gone down. do it again when you roll the window up. power has been lost at some point and the switches just need to re-learn(?) that they also work from the driver door

The mirror tilt computers also seem to go bad so everytime you backup, they won't reset. The cheap fix is to leave the control switch in the middle so they don't tilt and lose adjustment.
