No tunnel vision here. When rover introduces something that is as relaible and durable as a Land Cruiser, I will go check it out and may buy one.

Ditto, but they are light years from producing a reliable vehicle. Check out CR and numerous forums for details.

Toyota has been ripping off technology from Rover for years. Rover invented Electronic Traction Control, Hill Decent Control, and pioneered full time 4 wheel drive. As well Toyota has copied the up/down tiptronic type shifting that was already in use in Range Rover before the 200 series was born. Electronic air suspension? Range Rover had it back in 1992.

I am a Land Cruiser nut as well, but let's get it straight shall we? Both Jeep and Rover were around before Toyota antied up the BJ.

Your statement contradicts itself. Rover invented Electronic Traction Control - ETC way back more than a decade ago. Toyota didn't sell Rover anything.

Buick had electronic traction control available in 1971. Tiptronic style shifters have been around long before RR used them, pretty sure electronic air suspensions have been around since before 1992 (kind of irrelevant, since Toyota uses a superior hydraulic system), I would have a hard time believing RR had the first full time 4wd... What else ya got?:)

On the timeline I posted above:

"1902: Spyker (Dutch) full-time four wheel drive car built. Exhibited at the Paris Motor Show in December 1903 [Sco61]."
"1970: Range Rover released - luxury full-time 4WD."

More info on Spyker here.
