Hello all! New to the forum, but not new to a wrench. I have been into cars my entire life and I love unique purpose built cars and trucks. I picked the LC for it's 8 passenger seating (I have a big family), build quality, rough road ability, and the fact that it's made in Japan unlike it's Sequoia cousin. I picked up a 2000 MY with 180,000 on the clock. One owner, lived in an upper class neighborhood. Checked all fluids and they were all very clean which really relieved worries of neglect. The truck is in great shape and runs well. Has the exhaust manifold leak and some creaks in the front suspension, not to worried as the boots and joints all look well. Other then that, the sunroof is stuck but I have plenty of time to figure that out. Timing belt to be done in the next few months. I hope to learn a lot about this flag ship.

BTW, if anyone wants to trade stock wheels for some 20" chrome wheels, I'm in the market.

It's a great truck. 18" Tundra wheels are the easiest to find. 18" LC/LX not so much. Finding 16" LC takeoffs is maybe a little more common. Welcome to the MY2K club.

Welcome to the board. Sounds like you are off to a good start!

Thanks for the tip on the Tundra wheels. Any info is appreciated!

Sounds like a nice pick up.

The peanut gallery () loves pics btw.

Many years ago I was given a Toyota 4 door sedan as a company car. At the time, I would have preferred something else, but took it in good grace. The build quality and reliability of that car blew me away. Impressive. Land Cruisers are the weapon of choice in outback Australia [home then] and Africa, and for good reason. Finally bought my first LC in 1999 when the 100 series came out, and its still going strong approaching 250K miles. Iconic vehicle, and there's a ton of good advice here to keep it at its best [or better if your want]. Welcome!

Congrats and with 20" wheels I think You can rest assured that the Land Cruiser has never seen a speck of dirt, never been off Road...

I will rarely seat 8 as I only have my children ALL together once in awhile.

I will post some pictures, but with the 20's I'm embarrassed...

I toke her off road yesterday after work. Very comfortable compared to the HiLux pickup I'm usually in. She did very well and inspired confidence in the back roads near my home. Went for about 15 mile drive on rough, rutted dirt roads, river beds, and some steep inclines. I was wishing for some real tires and not the 20's with Goodyear street tires..
