I searched 5 or 6 keyword combos but couldn't find...

As the title would suggest, I'm trying to find out what the current best offering is for either flat or ultra flat spray paint in Olive or Moss Green. For a rattle can paint job on a 60...

have looked at this...

Krylon: Products: Camouflage Paint with Fusion Technology

And it looks somewhat promising but it seems like an ultra-flat may be hard to apply evenly as it drys so fast, it may leave some parts with more overspray and roughness while some spots would get a "wetter" impact and not be as coarse....IDK

I used the Krylon Ultra flat Khaki on my 40 back in November and it is holding up really well. It looks smooth and dries really hard. I drive the truck daily and the paint on the running board still has not rubbed off. It was going to be a temporary paint job until this summer, but I just might keep it as everyone seems to like it. I think I used 7 cans at under $5 each and It coverd the whole outside of the truck. After a couple of weeks, I LIGHTLY went over it with a green Scotchbrite (with soap and water) and it smoothed up even more.

Wow, finally a reply and a great one at that.

Thanks a ton. That cements it. Your 40 looks amazing!
You didn't get swirl marks from Scotch padding it?

I'm assuming "Lightly" means that you just removed any overspray parts...

Trapper, thanks , I kept looking at the Scotch pad to see how much khaki material was on it, and was suprised at how little material was coming off. I haven't noticed any swirl marks. By "lightly" I mean just enough pressure to keep the pad in contact with the surface. Definately not like you would apply pressure if you were using sand paper. Hope this helps.

I am on the fence about painting my FJ60 Krylon Dual paint/primer Satin almond color. I have done a spare hatch and the finish is good but I may want to go darker and higher gloss, like a semi gloss. I like the Teflon look of the Icon but in a dark tan? Any ideas for that type of rattle can paint?

I will post pics of my hatch.

While looking for something else, I happened to notice that Summit Racing is offering a series of flat paint colors - single stage acrylic urethane: http://www.summitracing.com/parts/sum-upfccc/overview/

They have a desert tan, camo brown, and olive drab. These are in gallons, not rattle can.

Looks like a lot more options are out there. I looked around a couple years ago and pretty much all that I could find was black - the John Deere product, the Hot Hues product by DuPont, and maybe one or two more. I sent emails to both JD and DuPont to see if you could tint their products - I wanted either a blue-black or a grey. Both advised against it. The Flatz Midnight Blue is just what I had wanted...

I saw that, but didn't mention it because the satin has a sheen to it - not really flat.
