I don't think you can post more picts until you have more posts...or you buy a star.

Welcome to mud...nice find!! I am restoring my '64, so like Johnny said, please keep me in mind if the sale of the top and doors doesn't go through...and please put me down "dibs" for those hubcaps if you decide to sell them.

That being said, and you are free to do as you wish, I would store all these parts for a later date...because...and I've read it too often...you'll kick yourself one day if you decide to restore it.

But again, if restorations are not you thing...and not wanting to step on anyone's toes...please keep me in mind with what ever original part/top/cap/door/jack/toolbag/what-ever you find on your '64 that you don't need !!

johnny i sent ya an e-mail with the 3 pics. and wife i will probably part with the hubcaps as i have no use for them and i am putting different rims on anyways. i may part with the doors as well, depends on what i can get for them and if i can find soft doors for it. and what do you guys think all this stuff is worth? and well here is what my delema was when this lil cruiser found me. my girlfriend and i absolutely love taking my atv out with all our friends and cruising around and playing in the mud a lil. well it got uncomfy with 2 of us riding the same atv and putting on up to 200 miles in a day. i was gonna buy an arctic cat prowler and put a cab on it with a winch and brush guard and all the goodies. well when i would be done i would have upwards around 12,000 dollars invested. i figure when i am done with the cruiser i will have about 4000 and i get to keep my atv for all the fun in the extreme mud stuff. and actually i get to keep my snowcat now. so basically i wanna cruise with it and i don't wanna have it completely restored to where i will be afraid to drive it. i know that must make some of you cringe lol

no i dont cringe....to each's own...i am driving mine and used to wheel alot...not exactly oem anymore...but...as a dd it has been great...and i am not afraid to rackupm the miles and pound some rocks with it :)

i'll check my email

Mines a 71 with a F and 3spd it'll do 60 mph ok. I have yet to have it on the freeway.

I am also from MN. Great rig! Check the local club out at Minnesota Toyx4s lots of fun events up North.
Its your rig, do what you will with it......*BUT* please for the love of Gad do not plow snow with it! Keep the salt and snow away from that beauty......

There, i said it.....

Good luck to ya, hopefully we will see you up in Gilbert.....

beauty????? lol not yet. but i am just gonna do my yard so it won't be exposed to any salt. i am thinking for the winter i am gonna park it next to my attached garage and maybe tarp it. so in reality it won't really see any snow. and that probably won't hurt it cause i don't think it has ever sat inside until now. well i'm sure johnny see's the pics of it sitting in my garage. and i often wanted to go to the gilbert ohv park. i got relatives that live in gilbert and i absolutely love that part of the state.

Hey I tell you what, I since I made such a scene about bows. I am going to withdraw my interest b/c shipping those would be killer and then I would still have to buy the soft top to go with it.

I am, however, looking forward to your build.

lunyou

ok lunyou it's your call. and i was thinking the same thing. i was wondering how in the hell am i gonna ship these.

Welcome to mud and kiss your disposable income goodbye. That looks like a great project. It is in much better shape than I thought it would be in when I read the first post.

If it were my project, I wouldn't sell off any parts for a while. You have a pretty unique rig and it will be really hard to get that stuff in the future. There are always going to be guys here who want to buy it from you.

When I first bought my rig I was all about the V8 and stock didn't matter. Now that I have owned it for a year I wish I started with a project like yours and kept it pretty much stock. Not only $4.50 a gallon gas, but I really grew to love the original/OEM look.

Just my .02 - I hope you don't mind.

Nice early cruiser and fairly rust free for where you are. I wouldn't pop rivit the oem soft doors. You could probably find stock hard doors locally that aren't that expensive and save the soft doors or sell em. Same with the bows. While shipping them is a pita the pipes could be cut sleeved on the inside and welded back together. Not that big a deal. IMHO.

well a couple updates i did to the 40. keep in mind i am not doing a frame restoration and it would never hold a candle to some of the awesome ones i have seen built on here. so far this summer i have put in new steering wheel, rebuilt the whole front end, put in new brake and clutch master cylinder and slave, gave it a tuneup and got it so it does about 70 mph now which is way faster then i need so that is good, rebuilt the carb, painted it navy blue, put on a bestop with soft doors, last night i put in a rollon bedliner. next on the list is new tires and rims lift kit 2.5 inch and new front bumper and winch. then it is just a bunch of little things like cd player and redoing all the electrical. also i ordered a middle counsol for it which should be here tomarrow or tuesday.EDIT: ok ignore this i don't know why i can't get pics on here lately
