New here, never owned a LC nor worked on one. I'm thinking out of this LC, trying to get best mpg as possible(don't laugh), maybe 1-2" lift, a tad bit more power and look semi pretty. it's been about 3 weeks since I owned her and here's what I've done so far. BTW, this is my wife's daily driver with the kids.

LED for running board

1" body lift

Those running boards will probably be coming off if you stick around in this forum :D

Also, you probably won't be needing that body lift unless you are planning on running 315's, which I'm sure the wife wouldn't appreciate too much! Otherwise, you would probably be ok just running 1-2" of suspension lift.

As for uploading pictures, I believe you have to have a certain number of posts before you can upload pictures. Welcome to the forum!

Trying to get best mpg does not equal a 100.

And LEDs for running boards = NERD.

I'm all about good MPG's and try to squeeze out the best numbers in our truck, but the lift and tires...they are going the opposite direction...but you'll have much more fun in the truck which offsets the pain of filling it up. The way I see it, owning a Land Cruiser is like having a constant battle between a smile and a frown. You frown when you have to fill it up with gas, but as soon as you're driving it, you smile....rinse and repeat....rinse and repeat.....

Welcome . I hope you enjoy your rig
Gas mileage : I remember that when I got my LC I had the same dream , after 2nd time filling it up and calculating the MPG, that dreamed shattered lol,
Best way to save on gas is drive 65ish
:cheers::beer:

Very true.

I did a SW Idaho to SF Bay Area round trip 2 weeks ago.

85-ish from Winnemucca to Reno and back got me 15.3 mpg (GPS corrected). It's around-town stuff that gets ya.

Overall mpg 14.7 over around 1500 miles total.

My old company Suburban usually did a mpg or 2 better.

The LX is definitely worth the gas...no question.:)

Dump the running boards.

Steve

You need a supercharger...

Not that it'll help your mpg, but it will make your smile more evident!

I know, just gonna try to squeeze every mpg I can get outta her. the running board most likely to stay, wife and kids use it all the time. lights on it may be nerd, but at least the family will not slip trying to climb in at night.

does anyone know if I can readjust my front oe torsen to lift it to match the rear? the front dips lower than rear :-\

Yes you can, there's an excellent write up on it in the FAQ. Go look there for any questions you may have.

Congrats on the purchase!

I suspected that I could adjust my torsen. after your help, it confirmed I was right. just gave her half inch lift in front tonite. looks allot better, again, thanks!

smm3 - thanks

Not sure about the magnaflow catback exhaust. Both EMS (Baktasht is a mud vendor and posted just above) and Doug Thorley (DT) are providing catbacks and headers. Recent testing seems to indicate EMS provides more benefit for HP and Torque, however, I have the DT and it works fine as well. I have purchased from both of these vendors in the past and both experiences were excellent.

Depends on the budget though, if you're gonna get a magnaflow that's over $500 definitely go with DT or EMS cause it seems that the consensus on this forum is that the DT's are excellent and the EMS are relatively new but also perform excellently as well. Totally depends on budget and preference though.
