I have questions......WHat is needed to install into a 79 FJ40?

Oya, Where are ya?

I'm in Eugene, Oregon. Additionally, I guess I should have said that the H55F is a Toyota 5-speed transmission. I also have driveshafts from an 85+ FJ60 for anybody interested in putting this in an 84 or older FJ60. The transmission is still in the box.

Hey I might be interested in this if nobody is in line already.

Check out tech links for a write up on an H55 into a 40.

theside00 -- nobody in-line at this point

Hello,

Just curious if you have the 40 series top plate or the 60 series top plate on the transmission?

Thanks,

Jeff

Highly scarce, pretty sure does not.....

Not to bust but...

If you're not getting any interest maybe you want to lower your price? The pick-up is a limitor as it is and your price is only $50 less than getting a new H55f with free shipping from Cruiserparts.net

Just my .02 cents.

jeffery_1965 - I bought it for my FJ60, I don't fully understand the top-plate question

lowcountryTLC - you've got a point - I did buy this from cruiserparts.net so I'm familiar with their pricing but you're actually saving more than $50. I'm including the gasket kit and seal which they charge an additional $55 for. I'm also including the 5-speed shift knob which was $20 so the totoal savings over their price is $125. For somebody in the Portland/Eugene area willing to stop by for it - it's a decent savings considering I haven't even unpacked it yet.

BONUS: I'll throw in the driveshafts. I have an 84 - the driveshafts are used and from an 85+ to deal with the difference in transmission length. I think I paid $150 or more for these so that brings the savings closer to $300.

Price Drop

I'm dropping the price to $1,750 - still includes the driveshafts, the gasket kit, and the 5-speed knob.

I'll take it for 1100 . does ti still have the waranty?

Okie - I'm not going to let it go for 1,100. The H55F is brand new and in the box - I bought it like this from CruiserParts.net for $1,850. That doesn't include the cost of the gasket kit, the 5-speed shift knob, and the driveshafts. Price for all of this is $1,750.

Stick firm to your price... It's very fair. Lurk around the board.. Someone needs one from time to time

yup

I would buy it if I wasn't scrapin' right now. Fair deal.

Still for sale. I reduced the price to $1,750 - still includes the driveshafts, the gasket kit, and the 5-speed knob. I'm going to look into what it will take to make all of this shippable next week.

It takes a cordless drill and some wood... shipped this cross country, I think it was about $150 or so to ship 2000 miles. This is an H55F as well.
