Hello Everyone,

I am excited to be here. Just purchased 2006 GX 470 With 160k. Great shape. Had a question about these bolts and why there seems to be white oxidation on them on the inside of the car. First picture are the bolts in the glove box, second pic are the seat belt brackets.

I also attached a video of my suv with a cold start. Is this idling normal ? Video not uploading , it goes to 1500 rpm for 20-30 seconds then comes down to 1000 until I go in reverse and then drops. TIA.....

My fj cruiser seat mount bolts oxidized similar years ago or the paint came off. I think I hit with a black marker/paint pen to clean up or maybe I put a few drops of oil on floor ones since shoes were likely to touch in that vehicle

It could be an old owner parked outside for a while or just time and sun uv wear tear.

I’m a perfectionist so I try to have everything looking factory new and it’s a curse as vehicles naturally are not going to be perfect

Thank you for the input, the ones in the glove box are this way to which is intersting. They never see the sun. I would say not galvanized bolts for sure.

Did your GX spend any of it's history near the coast?

Lots of things will start to oxidize if you live near sea air long enough.

Idle you mentioned is completely normal. The engine wants to get up to operating temperature and get the cats hot, then it settles down.

Thank you for the feedback men, It has been a Tennessee and Alabama only.
