has anyone put new front fenders on their truck? my rockers are rusted and I was thinking about replacing the fenders. wanted to know how much work this was

Bushwacker makes a set for the 100.

Are you removing the rust and infect metal or just covering it?

I have help install a set on a heep and it was a straight forward banana job.

These are probably held on by 3M tape.

I am not sure I want fender flares..

Looking at new fenders all together

I replaced one dented fender with a junk yard fender... it was a 45 min job... but i had the front bumper cover off already... I think if I remember right there is one rivet below the headlight other than that pretty easy job... I did order a 100 assortment pack of the plastic rivet things that hold the plastic inner fender in place off ebay... some seem to break when removed... it was the driver side so i didn't have to deal with the antenna which might require more time... there are aftermarket fenders on ebay and some will even spray them factory colors before shipment...

Hmm.. really.. I am looking for some used ones now that are propereturned colors. Good to know on after market ones and sprayed.

I do work at an auto dealerships and can get oem toyota parts on the cheap.

To limit rust issues on front fenders, pull back the fender liners and remove the dirt, sand, leaves and other crud that accumulates. If you have never done it you will be surprised at the debris that accumulates there. Keep it clean and there will be no rust.
