Wanted to let everyone know that I picked up my first Land Cruiser yesterday!

The inspection came back with a couple of issues including a broken front driver side hub (which I knew), blown shocks, need of a tune-up, leak on the transmission pan, plus a couple of other little things.

Otherwise it is a clean Cruiser. New paint, clean interior with no tears or cracks, no rust that I can find. 180k miles. No stories really, I am the second owner with maintenance and paperwork going back 10 years when the couple moved to the Carolinas. I paid $4,000 which I felt was reasonable.

I am planning on coming to the meeting tomorrow, perhaps a couple of you can check it over and let me know if you think it needs anything else.

Looking forward to meeting everyone!

I will post some pics as soon as I can.

Welcome Brett, sounds like being a second owner and records to boot that you came out pretty good.

He picked up an 60 series I believe, look forward to seeing the truck in person tomorrow.

Thanks guys! Yes, I got a 1989 FJ62. I will grab some pics and post them up.

Hope you don't mind me posting these up, but here are some pics from this morning when Brett came by and picked up a few parts for his 62.

Thats a good looking truck and pup. So did you buy the lift as well or just the tires?

Just to recap...thanks for the compliments

I picked up a OME Heavy/Heavy lift, 33s on Rockcrawlers along with some mats and mudflaps from Dave...thanks again man.

Hope to have a HAMOM at some point to get everything installed!

Breuer is our Vizsla puppy and loves going for rides.

howd the exhaust come out today?

great to hear. Its a hole in the wall but they seem to know exhaust systems well and their prices are incredible compared to even the cheapest i have ever seen posted... I think they do alot of fast cars...

Just got it back...huge improvement! Of course when it has as many holes and rattles as mine did, anything would be an improvement.

They do great work and the price is even better...full custom exhaust to your specs and where you want it to be routed for cheap.

Thanks again for your help...life saver

Why do you have to be so far away. I haven't found a shop to do my exhuast yet that didn't present themselves or look like absolute retards. Then quoted 2x's what I thought expensive was going to be.

Your rig is so nice...I think I see another John in the group to represent the 60's.

forgot to ask, did you do flowmaster or anything special or did you just get something nice and smooth put back on?

Thanks for the compliments...I'm absolutely loving this rig. Crazy to think that this is the cheapest car that I have ever bought, yet it is already my favorite.

I went with routing the two pipes off the manifold into a 2-in-1-out cat with a MagnaFlow muffler. They tucked everything up inside the frame nice and high. I think it should work pretty good.

Nice. I bet it sounds sweet!
Lookin forward to wheelin it with ya!
