Can't wait to make the swap!

Just bought a 69 with a weber the previous owner installed and a DUI distributor. Lots if hesitation so was going to rebuild the weber for $80 in parts but found this thread. Can you make a recommendation for my situation? Rebuild or get a refund I. The weber rebuild kit and get your carb?

Thanks,
Jon

Get the carb. I am in Moab right now and was stuck on a crazy incline that would kill most cruisers the motor performed great and the carb kept me going. The Weber would die at those angles!

Hope someone can help. Admittedly I'm not the most mechanically inclined, but I believe I removed my OEM carb and installed the trollhole carb correctly. When I first tried to start it, it ran for 4-5 seconds and then would not start again. After waiting 30 mins, it started for maybe 2 seconds and would not start again. The fuel level is right in the middle of the window.

Any ideas I can try? Below are some pics if it helps.

Got the old carb out...
What do we do with this plate / spacer (photo) that goes on the bottom base of the old carb. it has a vacuum port attached to it. It appears it can be removed... Or just plug the vacuum port?

Any assistance/guidance is appreciated...
