After driving some rough terrain my exhaust pipe finally broke off about 5 inches from the muffler. Is this a standard fix? Anything I need to know as in size, parts etc? I have little experience with this part of its anatomy. It's a 86 with an iron man 2" lift if that matters.

The usual course of action is to take it to a muffler shop.
There was a time (decades ago) when you could order the cat back exhaust assembly from Toyota (I did) but that’s no longer possible. Discontinued.

cool. thank you. luckily the muffler stayed put but the pipe now belongs to the trail . . . it was a very hot drive home.

Suggest you bring it to a muffler shop and have them fabricate a new exit that comes out behind the drivers side rear wheel. This will be much more convenient for off road.

Cheers, James

Do you happen to have a picture of this set up? Would like to show the welder when I bring it in.

Hey, thanks for taking the time to post that. Very helpful. I can show the welder later this week.
I should have mentioned the setup I have uses the factory pick up points and dampers too. I’ll get pictures of that too so you have a good idea on how to run the supports.

That would be great. Hadn't thought of that. I think my pipe was the same set up but it was pretty beat up.

When was the muffler and tail pipe assembly made NLA?

Apologies for the delay, here are some shots from under the truck on how mine is run. I tried to get a good shot of the bracket in front of the shock crossmember but it was dark and I need more light. Let me know if you have any questions.

I am also looking to repair the exhaust on my 87 FJ60. I have been trying to go the Walker Exhaust route but have not had any luck with their technical department. They keep telling me they don't make any products for the FJ60 but I believe the 46678 is the right tail pipe. I also need the muffler and I believe the 40119 is the correct one but I can't get confirmation. Has anybody used them and know the part number for the muffler?
