Eaton will soon be producing E Lockers in house for a large variety of Toyota trucks and Land Cruisers. My big question, will the 9.5" units have a larger center section and gears when compared to the Harrop?

Auburn already makes a (rear) e locker with the full size carrier. Not sure if the internals are any larger.
 
Also, don't some e-lockers unlock and relock when switching from forward to reverse? Will these do that as well?
 
I like the idea behind the Auburn Ected, but daily wear and tear on the clutch packs, and the fact that Auburn offers a 4 year D Rex program, cause me to shy away... Just like their cone style LSD, great until they are worn out, which can happen quickly.

The Eaton does disengage and engage when changing directions. Does this cause it to be fragile in that circumstance?

Georg Esterer @orangefj45 at Cruiser Brothers has sold over 500 of the Harrops in North America and none of them have failed internally. Yes, the internals don't fill the space, no, that doesn't seem to impair robust use.

No dog in the fight, just reporting our experience.
 
PS - Some additional detail from a historical perspective.

Harrop built its version of the Eaton elocker because Eaton didn't offer variants for the popular Australian sold models, including Toyotas. They licensed Eaton IP rights and purchased components, then finished them off in Melbourne. Eaton retained rights of distribution in North America and for some years, the plan was to bring an Eaton product to our market for our rigs.

My understanding was the issue isn’t as much fragility as it not being sure-footed in sketchy situations. The implication being sometimes you really want the locker to stay locked as long as the button is hit.

I got all of this from reading discussions on here about ARB vs Harrop. My only experience was with the factory lockers in an 80. Of course air lockers have their own issues..

Didn’t you find a source for factory toyota lockers that can be put into a 200 rear housing? Obviously this doesn’t answer the front axle question..
 
They only remained locked if power is applied.

The button does not have to be pressed when going from forward to reverse, it has to do with the cam action and how the locker presses the dog. The video shows this best at 3:24 - 3:31...

The 200 comes with an optional factory Toyota elocker in foreign markets. The 100 Series shares most of the elocker tech and parts with the 200. The sliding dog elocker front diff could be manufactured, just now sure it's worth it at this point.

The Auburn I got from nitro isn’t in the Auburn website. It doesn’t have a clutch or lsd just locked or unlocked like the harrop. Took me a second to find the page

They do for about 1/4th of a tire rotation in each direction when going from parked. When going from forward to back, or vice versa, it will be a 1/2 rotation.

According to Auburn and Just Differientials, there are no clutches in part # 545038. not sure why it comes with a limited slip additive?
I called them both because I DO NOT want a diff with clutches... been down that road, never again...
they claim this is an open or locked diff.. fyi

I have that Auburn diff, there is no clutch . . . open or locked like an air diff, elock diff etc. Mine did not come with LSD additive . . .

I wonder if when they say Land Cruise 200 2007-2016 they only mean the rear differential on the 2016?
2016 comes with thick gears.
 
I know it would be noisy as heck, but has any skipped the Air/Electric setup and put Detroit Lockers in Front and/or Rear?

In the video he mentions heavy trucks, which at 3 tons the LC seems to represent.
