Please tell us more about yourself and your 1986 FJ60.

You asked for it, lol.

Well, my cruiser addiction first began around 2004, when I first discovered the 60 series. I noticed a 62 for sale at the oarngegrove and oracle area in Tucson and immediately fell in love. Purchased my first freeborn red 60 from a russian car dealer for $3800, though rust free it ran poorly. He wouldn't take my Ducati as even trade so I laid a deposit and sold it for $6k. I did tons of work to it including pouring my heart into that vehicle, later to sell it to buy the wife an 80. In many ways I still regret selling it, but thats another story. That started a snowball of many cruisers to come and go. The one I hated was a tan 82, that thing must have been cursed. I paid $1800 iirc, put a ton into it before abandoning it for $2200 and loosing my shirt. However the PO was upfront and very honest, I just bit off more than I could chew. I'd say my two favorites were my 88 two tone and my mint 84 one owner.

I spent 6 years in the ARMY starting my career attatched to the 18th Airborne Corps, one of the only NG units attatched to big ARMY. Went from there to the aviation to push my flight packet, but regretably lost interest after being accepted due to some personal issues I needed to work out. Spent some time in the Border Patrol and absolutely loved the experience. In 2011 moved to Texas to work as a sales director for an IT company, wonderful people, however they were not equipeted to handle the volume I wanted to bring in, so we parted. From there we landed in ND, always wanted to work a cattle ranch, so we did it. That was the best summer of my life! The community forced me into the Sheriff's Dept. where I was later appointed Sheriff, Sheriff Michael P. Cude, haha who would have thought! While in ND I also took an EMT course (still need to take the National Registry) won a rodeo buckle, worked for a PD and had my fourth son! I have a strong sense of adventure and am always looking for new experiences. I had an 80 (my 3rd or 4th 80) in ND, but its all prairie and mild hills there, so I sold it. While there I had an oppurtunity to buy two mint LCs with diesel plants. It stirred a desire to take the kids on the Pan America Hwy, maybe just the Canada and U.S. portion, who knows.

My current LC is an 86 fj60, all new interior, bumpers, winch, rack, h55f 5spd, sliders and 150k miles. I am currently baselining it and the bill is racking up! I still think I scored and wonder why this thing didn't get snatched up sooner! I guess it was meant to be! Anyways, I have big plans for it, starting with OME, lockers, lights and recovery gear. I would like a tent and other camping equipment, we will see how things develop.

As far as work, I have not quite decided if I'll go to another dept. here or pursue the EMT thing or something new altogether. I guess thats the readers digest version.

There's a man without a plan! I love it. Life is what happens while you're making other plans is kinda my motto. Welcome!

Haha! I am disguised as a responsible adult! As long as I pay the bills and feed the kids, right?! lol, Kidding aside, we do need to take life as it comes and be up for anything!

Welcome to the club!
