I just adopted a 3 y.o. female Golden Retriever from the Burnaby SPCA. Her previous owners couldn't keep her anymore because they were moving and couldn't take her with them. Sucks for them, good for me. She has a wonderful temperament, is already house broken, and knows all the basic commands. Great with kids and other dogs, and loves car rides.

I can't believe my luck!

BRAVO for you for getting a rescue, Stone --

-- and a princess at that!

YAY!

Sooo...were's the pics???

One day, perhaps my lifestyle will be allow a dog. Till then I will have to settle for the two cats that keep themselves company when I am not home.

The defining moment came a number of years ago when I had a dog named Riley all picked out. I was going on convention for 5 days, and said to myself if he was still there when I got back I would get him. I was too busy when I got back to check, till 3 weeks had passed (home to eat and sleep only). At that point I realized my lifestyle was not pointing in the direction of a dog, as he would be abandoned most of the time.

That was at least 6 years ago, and it has not changed.

Good on you...I'm jealous!

Sounds like she might be Cruiser trained already (able to do long road trips, get along with everyone at the other end, come home and be happy to do it again at a moments notice?) :-)

gb

Gonna bring her by the shop on Monday?

Thanks!

It's a perfect setup for us. She's already trained and everything...we just get to enjoy her companionship from day one. My wife aboslutely fell in love with her. It was a great surprise for her after a hard first day of her Masters program.

Cheers, guys!

This is her just before I picked her up from the SPCA today:

Oh, and Eric, don't ever use words like "YAY" in a thread again!!! :flipoff2:

Serious note* after reading about the retard here in town shooting his puppies, this is welcome news...

But this thread sucks wenis without pics of your dog gettin' nailed by the neighbor's mut!

"wenis" . . . . ha ha, I'm going to be using that one for the next few days.

I heard some 4 year old kid say that the other day. Something about his "wenis"....tripped me out; I was like....."whoa, dude....what are you talking about".....

....little wenis winkle.

I just rescued a 12 week old long-haired Rotweiler, from the Lubbock pound, they were about to put her down, she is the best dog I have ever had.

Man, I want a dog so bad. Congrats on the cool dog.
