Thought you guys might be interested in checking out my new bumper. I am in Atlanta, and Kyle, who owns Kennesaw Mountain Accessories manufactured it and installed it.

nice bumper...I am located in Duluth, how much did it cost? You think he would be interesting in making a rear bumper?

I like it and would run one my LC

Bumper

The bumper cost around $800. He may already manufacture a rear bumper. If not, I suspect he would be interested. Here is the link to his site: Kennesaw Mountain Accessories. If you can't find it here, give him a call. He is a super nice guy who was very responsive. He drove all the way into town, picked up my truck, installed the bumper, and drove the truck back into town the next day.

I looked on the site and there wasnt anything about Cruisers, I will have to call him and see about a rear bumper. I looked at his other designs and liked them, so I would be interested to see what he could come up with. Thanks for the info...

rear bumper

Kyle did a rear bumper for me about 3 months ago. Awesome quality and great service, he did everything for me. Great bumper, it has already taken some major shots on the rocks and Lake Capri, Beasley Knob, Caney Fork, etc.

He can also do a single or duel swing out on this bumper. My bumper was $550 and I think he said the swingouts would be another $150-$200 depending on the type (tire, jerry can).

Great bumper. Thanks Kyle.

Can we get more pics of the rear bumper?

I like the price.

Hopefully KMA has improved their business practices, a few years ago they left a lot of mini/4R guys out to dry by not providing promised product. It seems they always take care of locals, though. I don't mean to start a s***storm and am genuinely interested in how things are these days because both the front and rear bumpers posted here look quite nice (except for the placement of reflectors on the front).

agreed w/ above...hope its all sorted out now. I do believe being local is going to be your best bet though for ease of communication. Products look great though!

You def got your recovery options up front....looks like two factory loops, two recovery pts on bumper, front reciever hitch....... sure you didnt want a winch to go with it all ;)

It is my understanding that Kyle is the new owner of KMA. In other words, he isn't responsible for whatever bad business practices may have existed years ago. I appreciate that being brought up, however. That's part of why I like this site; we can help look out for each other.

In response to the question about the winch, I am more of a hunter than a mudder. I am using that receiver on the bumper to carry a tray that will help me carry deer (I hope).

My buddy had a tacoma with a arb front and kennesaw rear.

His wife was driving in dt b'ham and got rear ended by 1/2 ton chevy and got sandwiched between the chevy and a volvo. I am pretty sure that kennesaw all but destroyed that chevy (the ARB took out the volvo as well), granted the tacoma's frame was tweaked and the bumper got bent up. The chevy broke motor mounts and dropped the engine out on the street (at least partially).

His was pretty minimalistic, like most of kennesaw mt's stuff, but it served its function well when the time came.

Kennesaw Mountain Accessories? Haven't heard that name in a while!

I can say from personal experience they have definatelly been at it for a while. My previous whip was an 84 4runner, (hence my screen name), and my first set of sliders back in 1999 I bought used from Roger Brown, (very well known on this board and Pirate), off of his 4runner. They were, like most at the time, taping and drilled into the frame. IMOA the U-bolt method like on my Hanna Sliders is way stronger than bolts. Still they made quality sliders, like I said back then that's all I heard of anyone doing besides welding to the frame...

IIRC back in the day they were doing mostly J@@p stuff but they did advertise sliders for Toyota PU's and 4runners on their website. Cool to see they are still at it.

Looks good!:p
