HELLO!

You could always run a slightly longer bump stop to keep the articulation where YOU want it. There are commercially available stops 1, 2, and 3" longer than the stock ones that bolt into the stock holes.

...Any other opines out there that can rescue it?

Yeh, 2-3" MORE lift like I already said. A 2" lift just is not enough for 33's.

Looks good, just hate to see you stuff one of those 33's into those nice clean straight, mustard fenders. Looks like you could do that easily like crossing some RR tracks at speed, etc. There is just not enough clearance between the tire and your sheet metal IME. And I an't talking about any type of flex on the trail. To each their own as they say.

Last thing, 38's with a 2" lift (and no SOA) will require some serious work with the saw-zall. I'd hate to see you hack it up though.

What's the story on the stripe? I want one.

I ran 33x10.5" for years on an un-cut 40 with 2.5" lift and extended shackles. No problems. If you do have a little rubbing then put some longer shackles on it. Rock on! Looks great.

The stripe was on it when purchased new from the dealer. Rig is originally from Southern California and was dealer installed it's a 70's thing.

No need to change anything Mikealeus.

(Just see if you do get "tyre rubbing issues" but i doubt you will.)

The new tyres are a big improvement.

And higher lift would take you backwards IMO.

I like the strip too! I would do some carefull articulation and measure for taller bumpstops, some us would cry seeing a pristine body get mangled.

Looks great Mike. Did you get a spare or was that for four tires?
Price was for 4 and he said that price per tire would be the same even if I bought 10.

Thanks and sure hope you are right!

Mark, thank you the bump stops are a great idea. Do you sell them if I decide they are needed?

Nice tires. Is Goodrich going to stay with both MT's? Or are they phasing out the old style. Lift should be okay.
From what I understand they are phasing out the old MT tread style.

BFG website only shows 2 sizes in "old style" tread

Dang, I thought I read on here that this size was OK with 2.5 lift, just slight rub at full articulation. Congrats, you just ruined my day. Any other opines out there that can rescue it?

Keep it how you like. It looks great. I have a SOA running 33x10.5 and I get the same kind of flack. "Dude you need some bigger tires."

Just goes to show there is no shortage of opinions out there. If it really becomes an issue, get the bump stop extentions, way cheaper than more lift.

I would put some extended bump stops under you rig to save the sheetmetal. They should be much cheaper than a new lift, extended shackles, or sheet metal. If you have any fab skills you can easily cut some square stock to extend your own bump stops.
