So now that Optima is garbage , Sears no longer sells Diehard platinum- there are fewer high end deep cycle battery options out there ( at least from nationwide retailers) I saw that autozone now sells AGM batteries , which I did not know. I went and looked at them in person and they are manufactured by BEST , and they look pretty Decent. I have heard good things about BEST. Anyone have one or have experience with one ? It looks like they have a 24F , and a size 34, but not a 27F which is what I would prefer .

For being AGM they sure don't have a lot of CCAs.

Just FYI Walmart now has AGM with their Maxx line with a great warranty.

I've been running 'duralast' from auto zone for several years now, and they are cheap and seem really durable.

X2Power from Batteries Plus. Buy once, cry once.

So you are saying that is the last battery I would ever need to buy? In my experience batteries are consumables, every single one of them is going to die. I shop service, warranty, then price, $360 and only a 48mo warranty, no thanks, will stay with my Interstate.

$330 after tax and 60 month warranty for the group 27. Of course it will die eventually but it’s preferable to a normal battery if you’re camping or whatever, and use electricity for things.

My Interstate seems to provide electricity for things, I think that is what batteries are designed to do? It even seems to do it when camping!:hillbilly:

I haven't had much issue getting anywhere from 3-5 years out of the standard issue AutoZone and Walmart batteries. However, I'm also not relying on a single battery when camping so don't have the need to spring for a high dollar unit. I run a Walmart brand deep cycle on the 2nd and AutoZone for primary. I could defintaley see if you were still single battery and running a winch + accessories why you might want the AGM.

What's your point? I'm sure the interstate is a perfectly fine battery but I doubt it has 930CCA, 90AH capacity, or a 60 month replacement warranty, therefore it probably cost less. No need to be snarky just because you don't see the value in having a very high quality battery.

I’m in the same boat- also only running a single battery, so I want to get the best I can afford .

I had the Autozone AGM. It worked great for 37 months only had a 36 month warranty . 'missed it by that much'. It was my only battery I got it to start the Cummins and it did work great. I could go camping or shooting and spend half the day with the radio playing or dome lights on and it would crank the Cummins over no problem but this last November when it got cold its like the life just got sucked out of it:skull: I would charge it with my AGM charger and left it for a couple days and it wouldnt even crank. so this time I found a coupon and got an AGM from advanced auto pats for $150 ish
