Just got this awning and was wondering if there are any specific reasons on which side to mount it? DS or PS? Is it just personal preference? Anyone with ideas on which is best? Thanks!

Most campgrounds operate off the passenger side, if you pull off the road passenger side is the safe side.

It just depends on how you use your rig and how your planning to use the awning.

If all you want is to pull off the side of the road and have a little shade than set it on the passenger side.

If your setting up in a primitive campsite for the night than there is no need to worry about a safe side.

I am in and out of my driver's side doors when I am camping more than the passenger side so I would set one up on the passenger side with a table and chair underneath it. That would leave me more room for getting in and out of the two driver's side doors.

In the perfect world it would be nice to have the option of easily moving it from one side to the other depending on circumstances.

Was thinking about making the mounts as "quick-connects" so I can change sides for whatever the occasion. Thanks!!

Yeah, make it interchangeable between sides. Keep it versatile.

There’s a few different awning qr mounts that can give you the option to move side to side.

I don’t think the Ironman brackets match up to the Napa awning. I have one of these as well and was not able to easily make the already installed Ironman QR mounts work with the Napa awning. YMMV

I just mounted it up to my factory rack. I drilled and used rivnuts. Ran the bolts through them so there are 2 pairs of bolts sticking up on each side now so it can switch sides by simply removing four nuts, then adjust for other side and tighten down. Worked out nice and the wife loves it! BONUS!! Hard to beat for $99.
